It was our first time there. Usually when it is a new restaurant the service is not right. Our server was on point, very knowledgeable and understood what we needed. Now the food! Wow! Our server, Ashley, recommended the risotto, the mussels and the tartare. We took the 3 of them. I mean WOW! The mussels and tartare were great and the risotto was out of this world. The best I ever tasted and I am very picky. Our night was great! Thanks for Ashley and the staff. Great food and wine! Awesome experience! I will go back soon.

Banff’s newest restaurant did not disappoint, service was great, scallop appetiser was delicious as was the Filet entree with roasted root vegetables and to finish a Lamington with caramelised banana, will be dining again soon!

For a starter, we enjoyed the Mussels with Thai Red Curry - the fresh basil really gave the dish a lift and the toasted sourdough was the perfect accompaniment to soak up the scrumptious sauce. Our main was sharing the Bone-in Ribeye (medium-rare) among three diners. Seeing as it's a 34 oz portion of meat, it was plenty for all of us. It came with flame-roasted squash and broccolini, plus creamy mashed potatoes. The dish could have used more potatoes, as there was barely a cup overall on the platter which is a bit lean even for two to share when the spuds are so good. The steak was served sliced, perfectly cooked, well-seasoned and extremely tender. For dessert we shared the Banana-Coconut Rum Lamington and the Orange Chocolate Tart. Of the two, the orange-chocolate tart was the favourite, because there was a lot going on in there with rich dark ganache, bright orange creamy topping, and a dash of ancho chile powder. When blended with the affogato, the dessert was a showstopper. The Lamington was pleasant as well, just more homey than the tart. Service was attentive and friendly. It was fun to sit next to the open kitchen and watch the staff prepare dishes. It wasn't too busy or loud, and there is a decent amount of space between tables. The decor is gorgeous with a lot of stone and warm wood. Overall, a bit of a splurge but a really nice addition to the restaurant scene in Banff!

Good Folk was a really nice surprise in Banff. A new restaurant, the food was excellent. We had a wonderful Burrata and humus appetizer, rainbow trout (cooked perfectly), and beef tenderloin (also excellent). Great service. Decor and ambience in restaurant was excellent. We’ve eaten at many Banff restaurants and this one is definitely a highlight.

We were able to make a reservation on New Year’s Eve for 7:15 PM. The service was great all around from the greeting to the end of our stay at the restaurant. We were attended to many times for water. Someone checking in on us how our meal was our server. Yes it was all very great service. The food was excellent. I had the chicken supreme, and my husband had the 6 ounce prime beef tenderloin. It didn’t look like a lot of food for him but actually in the end he was pretty full. We had a good appetizer, which was the mushroom flatbread and a couple adult beverages. I would recommend and would go again. Really nice ambiance and lighting and really beautiful fireplace and a nice place to have dinner.

This was so good we went back the next night too. The chef and kitchen staff are top notch, service was attentive but not overbearing, ambiance was warm and inviting. We had the burrata app and pasta, as well as the scallops, wild boar and trout. Flavours were excellent. The winter margarita and alpine glow cocktails were tasty and the lamington and chocolate orange torte were a great finish. Nothing but great things to say here- make sure you enjoy a meal here!

We decided to book here for Christmas dinner. We were not disappointed, from the moment we walked in the restaurant, the service was fantastic, the restaurant was very sophisticated, and gave the fine dinning experience. We ordered from the pre set 3 course Christmas Menu, which gave the true Christmas experience all the way down to how the food was presented as it would be if you were experiencing a family Christmas dinner. The stuffing was phenomenal! The only criticism I would say is that the root vegetables were undercooked, however still had fantastic flavour. Overall I would definitely go back and would recommend for a special occasion or to anyone looking to elevate your dinning experience this is the place to go! This was our best meal we had in Banff by far, and probably one of the best meals out I’ve had in a while.
