A fantastic find in Oakland near Lake Merritt. The food was excellent and the service was attentive. The tables & chairs were not very comfortable but adequate for breakfast and lunch.

I made a reservation 3 days prior and arrived on time for our indoors reservation, only to be told that they were full with "reservations". I reminded them that one of those tables should have been reserved for us. The only option was outdoors wasn't an option for one in my party who has a disability, we needed to find another place within walking distance on a busy Saturday night. I've been to GLK many times and have enjoyed the food and the service. This time the restaurant should have at least offered a substantial discount for us to return another time. Their disregard at our inconvenience makes returning less likely.

Scallop risotto, French dip sandwich, and black cod couscous were all awesome! Definitely worth trying. But my fave was the Brussels sprouts!!! They were crunchy with just the right amount of sweetness, vinegar, and that panasan cheese. So good!

The best comfort food in town! The avocado toast was perfect, as was the green salad on the side. My guest loved her crabcakes hollandaise! Service was quick and friendly. A neighborhood gem for sure!!!!!
