The Greenhead Hotel was taken over in June 2020 by local proprietor Jordan Dodwell & his partner Anna Pearson. After a complete refurb they opened the doors on the 14th August 2020.

Head Chef, Dan, & his young, eager team use the finest ingredients available using local butchers, suppliers and even forage in the nearby woodland. During the shooting season we source game from the local shoot which features on our specials board.

Situated on the Northumberland and Cumbrian border, with Hadrian's wall on our doorstep, the hotel offers a cosy drinking area with locally sourced ale, a chic restaurant serving homemade classic pub food with a modern twist and 7 newly refurbished dog friendly en-suite guest bedrooms, alongside a 45 bed Hostel, providing the perfect base for your trip.

Another lovely meal at the Greenhead Hotel is one of our favourite places to eat . The service was excellent the young girl who was working on her her was very professional she was really good

Lovely Sunday lunch but I had forgotten it was half term, so lots of kids. All well behaved but just noiser than normal.

Beautiful Sunday lunch as usual. Soufflé to start was gorgeous and the beef cooked to perfection.

I used to run my own kitchen and know how difficult it is to serve up well cooked, interesting dishes that also have an original twist - and keep to budget so that the customer doesn't get charged too much. The kitchen team at the Greenhead did an exceptional job. I eat out quite a bit, always searching for a "good" restaurant. I live on the South coast so that shouldn't be too difficult - but there's always something not right, sometimes WAY not right! The only thing I could find to complain about at the Greenhead was that there was nothing to complain about. I do enjoy a little moan. . .none here. And the front of house staff were great, too nothing too much trouble, friendly and professional. Terrific place - such a pity it's so far from home - oh - there's my moan! This post is going on tripadvisor as well. I hope people are advised by it.

Had a lovely Sunday dinner with friends who travelled from far away. All the waitresses were lovely and chatty and the food was devine!

Absolutely delicious, by far the best food in the area. The upmarket bistro is beautifully decorated and furnished. The tables offer privacy to converse without feeling overlooked by others dining too. The food was superbly presented and absolutely delicious fabulous fishcakes and the steak and stout pie with roasted vegetables are divine! The staff are so lovely and couldn't be more helpful. Will definitely be back .Thank you x
