Hamrock's Restaurant is located within the Moore-McCandlish House (built 1842) in the heart of historic Fairfax City. We've been proud to serve delicious made-to-order American dishes using fresh ingredients since our establishment in 2016. We also have a wonderful hand-selected wine list to enhance your dining experience. Approximately eighty-percent of our menu is-- or can be-- gluten-free, as we use only canola and olive oil in all of our cooking. Some of our best-selling dishes are our southern fried chicken, grilled meatloaf, and crab cakes-- all which are gluten free! Other menu favorites include our deviled eggs, firecracker shrimp, Atlantic grilled salmon, roasted pork tenderloin, and penne pasta with andouille sausage & shrimp. We have beautiful year-round outdoor seating options on our wrap around porch (we have heaters!) In the warmer months, we also open our courtyard. We're also more than happy to accommodate business dinners or other special occasions in private rooms.

Initially seated at a terrible table adjacent to loud, clanky kitchen. Complained and was moved to a better table. Weird as we arrived with an advance reservation and there were multiple empty tables. Annoying. Food was outstanding. Service was good. Restaurant is way, way too loud with stupid music coming out of noisy kitchen. Annoying. Food was great! The only reason I might come back. Not nearly the ambiance we have enjoyed in prior visits.

I had the crab cake entree and it was delicious. Food came out fast and the service was amazing. I will definitely come back.

The service and ambiance were absolutely excellent and I'd absolutely come back! Pur waitress was amazing. But the food was not great...lobster bisque tasted like tomato soup, penne with meatballs tasted like chef boyardee, scallops were barely edible...I'd come back for drinks, the location and ambiance, and maybe try desserts.

Absolutely delicious food - my avocado and chicken salad was fresh and flavorful. I can't wait to go back and try more items from the menu. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Don't say no to the bread basket!

The waiter was exceptional. Noise is bad when the place (room) is full. I like the fried chicken, but I wish they had dark meat. The white fries chicken was so dry. All the moisture was gone in the white meat. The price is very good!

The food was good & service was fine until our bills came. They got our meals, appetizers & desserts all mixed up on each couple's bill. We had asked before ordering if they could do this & the answer was yes. Luckily it got straightened out. One other item - a table of 4 people were so loud it was hard to hear. My husband & I have dined here before & it usually is not quite so noisy.

Have eaten here several times and loved it but tonight was a disappointment. Service was slow and some of the food was cold. Will try again but they definitely were having an off night

Great food and service for six of us celebrating a special day. Wonderful ambience—welcoming and comfortable. Drinks were served at the perfect temperature. Steaks, seafood, salad, and pasta (well, Lobster Ravioli!) were outstanding, as were the popover rolls and mini corn muffins. Dessert—chocolate cake—was extra yummy, and best of all, the service was fabulous!
