The Heart & Crown, in Ottawa’s historic ByWard Market, consists of 5 pubs under 1 roof with 6 patios that make-up what is locally known as Ottawa’s Irish Village. We ate here in the summer and again recently. We much prefer the options on the winter menu. A great choice of meals and the food was nicely done and presented Great service from our server.

we were there mainly because we wanted to watch a soccer game in a nice pub ambience. The ambience was nice, big screens and moderate noise level. While there we thought we might as well eat and that was also fine: fish tacos, club, sheppers pie and wings were all very good. Waitress was very nice and pleasant. Big bonus, there was a house band in the evening and they were a lot of fun and looked like they were enjoying themselves. The restaurant is located in Little Italy, a nice area of Ottawa

The service was amazing and excellent food. I had the fish and chips but changed chips to mashed potatoes. Only thing I would have preferred was more coleslaw as I love veggies. I also love to dance but you have to be prepared to be packed on the dance floor like sardines in a can. I would have preferred a few inches to actually move. The Start is the best band in Ottawa so maybe that’s why it was so packed?

Food prices are getting ridiculous. I paid $34.00 for a plate of nachos with chicken and guacamole. Too expensive for a shareable appetizer. Hard to give a decent tip, when restaurant prices are so high.

Good ambience, good live music. Hung out with friends and family and it was an evening well spent. Gives a feel of an old bar/pub. Highlights of this place is live music and a dance floor.

It was St. Patrick’s Day eve so the place was rip roaring and packed. Thankfully we had a reservation. Our server was the bartender at the back bar. As busy as he was, he was very attentive. My husband had the beef dip and thought it was just ok. I had the seafood chowder and thought it was amazing.

Great place for dinner before going to Absolute Comedy. Good pub food overall. My only nit was that the lighting was poor for our table which was in the corner. Place was busy for a Thursday night so recommend going early if you want a conversation.

The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and helpful. The food was mediocre at best. My wife had the beef dip and it was ok, the au jus dip was not au jus it was a either a failed attempt at gravy or dirty sink water. I had the club. The bacon was good, the toast was cold and dry, the chicken was dry and the one piece of tomato stretched across the entire sandwich was not enough and I guess they forgot to put on the aioli sauce or if it was on, there wasn't enough to taste it. Both our meals had cold fries. The noise level is such that you find yourself yelling at each other. Quite often we waited to a song ended to speak so we didn't have to yell.

One of our party’s order was messed up, it was very slow service and my soup that was $20 was 3/4cup with almost no seafood.
