Not happy with the fine print at the bottom of the menu that states there will be a 2% "Culinary Fee" added to your bill. The food is already over the top expensive which I understand due to the location on the ocean.... But why pull this two bit sleaze to sneak another 2%? Not going back.

Thanks for dining! The 2% is an optional service charge that goes directly to the kitchen staff and can easily be removed by any team member. It is listed so it is very up front. We have been doing this for about 4 years and most guests appreciate that we offer a program that they can contribute to not only their server, but their back of house team members. We apologize if this was not properly explained and understand your frustration!

I wrote a review 2 weeks ago and we had a wonderful experience, promting us to make 2 more reservations, the first of which was last night. The view was great, and the service was good. However, food was not. We canceled our second reservation for next weekend. As we live here year round we have periodically eaten at Heaton’s. Unfortunately, I have to concur with other reviewers who say that Heaton’s is just too inconsistent to count on.

We had a little bit of everything! It was yummy and our waitress was awesome! Loved the grilled octopus , hanger steak , truffle fries and burger! Great vibe!

We live in Vero year round and this is a great place to go in all seasons, though we enjoy it most when our out of state friends have returned to other places. Usually we go as couples but last night it was a guys night out. Our table request was accommodated, service was excellent and the manager made a point of checking in with us. Food is very good, but a limited menu. We are introducing another couple to Heaton’s in mid- March.

We all got smash burgers which were great! Fried pickle appetizer and bake clams! Our waitress was great!

We have had good experiences at Heaton in the past, not the last time. Order took extremely long to come. Wait staff was not clear about menu, and basic protocol regarding waiting on customers. This is probably a management problem with inadequate training, rather than an issue with the particular wait staff. One meal had a a piece of fish that was about 2oz, so small that the staff delivering it couldn’t contain their laughter. Manager was consulted twice, eventually getting the meal complete, with meager compensation. To end it all, after water was spilled on the party, I was forced to pay a $54.00 tip!!! This whole experience in bad need of a “ do over”

Calamari was not fresh and tasted greasy. Main courses nothing to speak of. Menu was limited. Service as usual was great!
