   A disappointing Mothers Day experience. 3 of 4 meals (meat only) were delivered to the table. 10 minutes later we still didn’t have veg or the 4th meal so the food went cold on the plates. After enquiring 2 or 3 times, they served the veg but not the 4th meal. We pointed out that by now the meat had gone cold. They served the veg anyway and seemed to expect us to just get on with it. But one of us was still missing an entire meal so we said we didn’t think this was ok. Then they asked what we wanted them to do. So we said we felt they needed to replace the cold food with new. Which they then agreed to do - but it was disappointing that there was no proactive resolution provided by the manager and there was some attitude from the waiting staff with the inference that we were being difficult. They put in a tricky situation and we were made to feel uncomfortable. When the food did arrive it was ok. And they took approx a third off our bill by way of an apology. But the awkwardness of it all did sully the experience and our daughter was upset that it had spoilt Mother’s Day. We’re eaten her before and it was good - and it’s a small local restaurant so we’d like to support it but based on today’s experience and how it was handled we’d be reluctant to go back. We were asked to write this review by OpenTable.

   Much better staff than last time we went. £££ but very good food. The thing is, it wants to be a local eaterie. We eat out a few times a week but it’s so expensive we have to keep it for special occasions and it’s a bit not special enough for those. Too many tables by far. Random emails about changing staff and investing. Wish it was smoother and better. We used to adore The Rivington.

   Thank you for the feedback, gratefully received. As it relates to being expensive, our Social Set menu is 2 course @ £24.95 and 3 for £29.95. A carafe of wine is £18, the occasion wines are well priced. With the rise in duty and cost of living- a steal by anyones standards. Did you book at prime time, as it generally is always busy and the Social Set is not available on these services. Investment is needed by people using the restaurant more regularly to become a regular. Have you signed up to our social club, this gives lots of discounts and value adds for those wanting to come in more often. It offers priority booking, a 10% discount for those wishing to keep the overall price a little less celebratory. Here's hoping the summer brings better times for all.

   I had not eaten here before so I was pleased that it was so good. The AI review did not do it justice! We were warmly welcomed, helped with our coats, service was friendly and well-timed, and all the food was delicious, particularly the pea and goats cheese risotto. I would happily eat here again.

   Overall, we really enjoyed Highroad Social. The ambiance is wonderful, the staff is friendly, the design is attractive and the main dishes are excellent. There were two concerns that lead to the 4-star rating rather than a five-star rating. The starters/appetizers part of the menu is quite limited; we wanted to share several appetizers to get started but couldn't find enough appealing choices. Also, a member of our party ordered a second glass of wine just as the main dishes were being served. When it didn;t arrive, we had to remind the maitre d' of the order. While he and the waitress were genuinely apologetic, the second glass of wine didn't arrive until she was nearly finished with her dining.

   Hi Bill, thank you for your honest and positive review. I apologies that the starter selection was not to your liking and for the tardiness on our drinks delivery, our seasonal rocks are a particular favourite of mine, served with Josh's Bloody Mary. We are working towards our summer menu, to be launched in early April, Given we are a British provenance and seasonally led restaurant, it is with great delight I write to inform you it will be of the first order and there will be amazing snacks and savouries galore, together with an amazing selection of all that is good about Empire food and a specials board simply jumping with British produce, all served with respect and honesty. When next in, please do introduce yourself and we would be delighted to send over a timely aperitif on us.

   Fabulous meal at High Road Social. Relaxing atmosphere and friendly service. Food is very high quality and cooked to perfection . What a lovely addition to Greenwich neighbourhood!

   Hi Annabel, times have changed as regard to pricing and food quality, we have our social set menu available together with lots on offer at amazing value for the quality and location. Our offer evolves throughout the day, regardless of if it is for breakfast, lunch or dinner / brunch and or roast on a Sunday. There are lots of other places in and around Greenwich that are serving cheaper food and we wish them all the success in the world. We will continue to serve well priced amazing produce, cooked well and with honesty and respect for the ingredients.     Food was really delicious and the service was excellent, friendly and lovely decor, would definitely revisit! Set menu was excellent value.
