Review: A $3,000 Disappointment
I rarely write negative reviews, but my recent experience at Hollywood Savoy was so poor that I feel obligated to warn others. My family of six of us dined here for NYE and at $300 per person, we expected an evening of exceptional service and cuisine. Instead, we were left utterly disappointed.
The service was appalling from start to finish. It took 20 minutes before anyone even approached to take our order. The staff was inattentive, rushed, and empty glasses were ignored for extended periods.
The food was equally underwhelming. Dishes arrived lukewarm, lacked flavor, and were far from the standard you’d expect at this price point. Portions were also embarrassingly small, leaving some of us still hungry after the meal.
The final insult came with the champagne we ordered. For a fine dining establishment, the lack of attention to detail was shocking. The bottle wasn’t presented to us for approval, a basic standard of service, and to top it off, it was poured into wine glasses instead of proper champagne flutes. This completely diminished the experience and showed a lack of professionalism.
We tried to make the best of our evening by ordering some nice wine and champagne but for bill totaling nearly $3,000 (after wine and champagne) we left feeling disheartened.
There are countless other restaurants in this price range that offer impeccable food, service, and ambiance. This was not one of them. I will not be returning, and I strongly recommend others look elsewhere for a truly memorable dining experience.
