The famous Puerto Rican cuisine restaurant reopened fully renovated. Iguanas Cocina Puertorriqueña, now features an open-view demonstration kitchen and seating for up to 104 guests. Overlooking the El Yunque National Forest and the River Course, is a family-friendly venue, known for its authentic Puerto Rican cuisine favorites and spectacular scenery. Located on the Rio Mar Clubhouse’s second floor. This new restaurant offers handcrafted cocktails, artisanal beers and light bites at Iguanas Bar. The mind behind this well known restaurant, Chef Jorge Cátala with over 15 years of experience makes sure to bring the highest quality products, including fresh lobsters & fish from local fisherman’s. Also, his love to the local agriculture brings to the table the freshest and finest dishes including organic chicken, cage free eggs, hydroponic greens, among others. Amazing authentic Puerto Rican food in a beautiful setting. Exceptional service from our waitress Dalila- she was so friendly & attentive & made great recommendations-- the cuisine was delicious with beautiful presentation overall 10/10!

The restaurant was full, but the hostess managed to accommodate us. The food was exquisite (the fillet mignon was out of this world). Our waitress , Dalila was excellent, as all the staff in this restaurant. Pedro, Who server us two times in the past, come to our table just to greet us. Again, all the staff make you feel at home.

Nice and open space between tables, well timed course and presentation,attentive staff. Dahlia was knowledgeable and friendly. Entire experience was above our expectations. Would recommend and return again.

Wonderful place and ambiance. We have eaten here before, but unfortunately this time multiple dishes were extremely salty. Would still return, but will ask to make sure that they are considerate of the salt.

The service was great! We were greeted warmly when we walked in, shown to our table and our drink orders were promptly taken. The food was Puerto Rican fare and good! One of our party had a food allergy and that was dealt with well by our server. We had mofongo, salmon, and a chicken dish. We would happily return.

Dinner at Iguanas is always a great time. The setting is relaxed and open-air, but the highlight of the night was the service—truly top-notch and incredibly attentive. We started with the vegan meatballs and the sampler platter, both solid choices to kick off the meal. For mains, the mofongo stole the show. You can choose (if available)between yuca or plantain as the base. My mom had hers with steak, Elliott opted for the garlic shrimp, and both were flavorful and perfectly cooked. I went for the chicken chicharrones with a side salad—crispy, well-seasoned, and satisfying. Iguanas might be casual, but the food is thoughtful, and the service takes it to another level. A great spot for a laid-back dinner that delivers on flavor and hospitality.
