Now offering daily a 3 Course pre-fixed EARLY BIRD menu for $39.00 from 4-6PM. This menu is also available for Takeout. We are also doing free delivery within a ONE mile radius of the restaurant.

“Girasole” stands for sunflower in Italian. A flower that grows in abundance in fields all across 4 different provinces in northern Italy. A classic northern Italian trattoria with daily fresh ingredients & house made pasta dishes served w/ stellar service & exceptional wine & specialty drinks. Providing our guests the best in Italian cuisine we have to offer with a combination of 50 years of experience. We have 2 separate dining rooms for you to enjoy a wonderful family meal or for an impressive 1st date dinner before heading across the street to catch a movie at the theater! One of Chicago’s best new Italian restaurants! The food was incredible and the service top notch. The entire staff made us feel so welcome and we look forward to returning to our new favorite neighborhood spot.

Terrible Hostess. When we arrived we were greeted by a disagreeable hostess with a menacing attitude. She really should find another line of work that does not involve greeting or interacting with people. But she did not ruin our meal as the food and service made up for her sour disposition. We will go have dinner there again and try to ignore the vapid girl at the front.

Loved this restaurant. The staff was super attentive and knowledgeable and the food was amazing. There were 7 of us, we each had a different entree and we all loved our food. Can’t wait to go back.

Food was tasty but execution of the meal and restaurant operations weren’t great. Our table ordered a margarita with no chili salt and it arrived with chili salt. When it was “remade” it was clearly the same drink poured into a different glass (large red chili flakes floating in the drink). Even though our sever did correct it after we asked again, it was lazy, especially when a drink costs $15 and our table ordered multiple. Other instances of the same, as we put our drink orders in - “you’ll want to put in your food orders right away because it’s going to be a long wait.” Our party felt rushed to make decisions and still waited to get our food. Stand alone, simple issues are completely understandable but compiled speaks to larger overall issues. It appears they need some adjustments to managing high volume nights.

Limon was an amazing server for us at the bar, so this review has nothing to do with him. I had a reservation for 2 and got there a couple minutes before my reservation started. The waitresses at the front proceeded to sit down other parties who had reservations after us and practically ignored us for 20 minutes, continually sitting others down and not acknowledging our presence. They then came up to us and told us we could sit at the bar and get a free drink, yet when we got the bill the drinks were not free like they promised.

If they hadn't seated us upstairs in the subpar space, this review would have been higher. We were celebrating a bday and expected to be seated in the main dining area. Very disappointing. The food was mediocre at best for Italian. I had the bucatini with sausage. There was little to no sauce making it very dry. We also got the short rib. Again, average in taste. Won't be returning here.

Last minute Friday night reservation.. 1st time here as we were in the city looking to purchase a car in the neighborhood.. Drinks Old Fashion and StrawberryField drink… Good pour… Appetizer Mozzarella Caprese Salad perfect size to share for 2 people… 4 slices of tomato and a good ball of cheese… Bread and oil also a nice starter… Dinner Entree I had the Brasate Di Maiale, this was on the specials for the day… nice size, the taste was excellent, food was hot which is a win. My husband had the Porocellino Al Madeira, presentation was good, the taste was uniquely good. The Risotto was out of this world… Service was excellent…. Our waiter was attentive and very friendly. Deserts looked amazing, just had no room. Would visit again when we come to to city again..…
