JJ’s Restaurant is a Vancouver institution. Both the kitchen and front of house are run by students who are in their 2nd level of cook training. Enjoy a three-course a la carte lunch which is reasonably priced and produced with the highest level of passion and care by students with the guidance of their Chef Instructors. If you are interested in a group booking please email culinaryarts@vcc.ca.

Enjoy a gourmet five-course meal designed by Chef Hamid Salimian with optional selected wine pairings, served in a unique group setting with only 10 seats available per night. The Chef's Table dinners are run by students, led by award winning instructors in Vancouver Community College's International Culinary Arts Program. The food was nicely presented and taste was very good. A relaxing atmosphere, and quiet enough to enjoy a conversation between ourselves. Students did their best ,as it was only their second day in the dining room, so pack your patience. Would definitely would return.

Always enjoy supporting the students at VCC downtown campus while dining at JJ's - have been dining at JJ's for over 40 years!

student staff were excellent and very exacting about their work. I eat here often and this was on of the better experiences. Terry and also the bartender and all waiting staff. Chef came out to chat. Excellent overall.

I order 3 courses for $40. Food and service both very good. Recommend reserved 90 mins for lunch.

I went to JJ’s with two co-workers for lunch today and it was fabulous. The service was great and the food amazing. I would highly recommend putting this on your dine out list. It was great to see young people so interested in what they’re learning and the level of professionalism was noticed. Kudos to the teaching staff. All around great experience.

As always, food and service were great, but higher cost of food ingredients has hit JJs hard, so not only has the price of the set lunch increased twice in the last two years, from $30 to $35 and, lately, to $40, the portions have also been significantly reduced. For example, the size of the Steelhead trout that I dined on three days ago was less than half the size of the same menu item that I ordered the 3-4 times I was there in the last two to three years. Still and all, a most pleasant dining experience.

My mother, elder sister and me visited JJ for the Luna New Year celebration. The servers' service are excellent, they do care us a lot. We've ordered 2 x Pork Wellington and 1 x Steelhead trout Risotto, we enjoyed the pork wellington a lot except the trout, too many bones found in the fish. We did share with one of the servers and the gentleman (believe he is one of the teachers there) did apologize and would like us to accept the fish dish situation. Since JJ is the fine dining restaurant, we are all surprised that they don't change the fish dish to us.
