Join Susan Harper in 5-week wine courses, comprising of 5 modules. Absorb interesting facts and expert knowledge while tasting wines relevant to the subject. This course is for beginners to experts alike, as knowledgeis for everyone. Theres plenty to learn whether you join 1 session or all 5! For every concept that we discuss, we will taste a wine that will showcase the theory…no question is a bad question unless not asked! The aim of this course is to demystify wines and answer any unanswered question, whilst giving you some fun, intelligent facts about wine that will silence any wine boars…a chance to learn the fun common-sense facts about wine in a friendly fun environment. There will be a wine pack for each class for you to take away and a chance the following week to ask any further questions you might have thought about. There will be plenty of wine flowing at each session to test the theories, and each class will last 1.5 hours. Session 2 - Ageing and Microclimate There are various ways that a wine can be aged – we will taste wine that has been aged in stainless steel, lees contact, amphora, varying oaks and cement amongst many others. What is the difference between a young wine and an aged wine? How can you tell? We will look at the winemaking process… Different microclimates also create different styles of wine from the Terraces of the Northern Rhone to the fertile valley floors of Australia…

With the world heating up – is there still a significant difference? We will try 3 wines blind to really look at the differences – and will compare grapes, wines and concepts across these worlds.
