I’ve been to Joey Shipyards multiple times and always had a great experience. Unfortunately, this time, we weren’t seated at our preferred table despite noting our preference in advance. However, our server handled it professionally and offered us a table closer to what we had requested. I’ve always loved their hummus and bread, but this time the portion was smaller, and several bread pieces were burnt, which was disappointing.

The food, as usual, was excellent. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal at Joeys. But the service, more often than not, is slow and inattentive. And today was no exception. I love your food Joeys, but the awful service might keep me from coming back. Cactus and Brown’s have good food AND good service.

Nice Spot with great views of the city across the inlet. Service was very good. We appreciated the welcome drink while waiting for our table.

Disappointing Service on a Special Occasion I recently chose this restaurant to celebrate a special birthday, hoping for an exceptional dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell short due to the lackluster service. Firstly, the staff left finished plates on our table for a whopping 30 minutes, which was quite frustrating. Our wine, which we anticipated enjoying with our meal, was never poured, leaving us to handle it ourselves. Additionally, no one offered refills on our drinks. I actually had to make my way to the bar to get an iced tea refill, where I ended up sitting for another 30 minutes. It was a birthday celebration, and I expected a little festivity, such as bringing out the desserts with candles. Yet, the desserts arrived with no acknowledgment of the occasion. While the food was good, the overall dining experience was immensely disappointing due to the inattentive service. With so many dining options available, I regret choosing this restaurant for such an important event. The lack of engagement and attentiveness from the staff really overshadowed what could have been a wonderful evening. Overall, I had high hopes but left feeling let down. I hope they take feedback like this seriously to improve their offerings for future guests since this is the second disappointing birthday with them.
