From the classic Italian music to the candlelit tables, the nostalgic atmosphere at Johnny Costa’s Ristorante feels like traveling back to midcentury times. It’s no wonder Frank Sinatra was once a regular at this fine Italian restaurant, which has been honored by Palm Springs Life as best Italian restaurant for 10 consecutive years. The Costa family continues the legacy of late chef-owner Johnny Costa, who was pals with Sinatra when he moved to Hollywood from New York in the 1960s, and a decade later served as the singer’s personal chef at his desert home.                                                                                       This may be the best place in PSP. Food is amazing. Service is really good. Portions are perfect. Prices are very reasonable. I just can’t help going back over and over again.

                                                                                      A few suggestions! You must be willing to eat your bread & salad without a cocktail or wine . Order an extra drink when you place your order so you have something with your meal. Bar is very slow. They were extremely understaffed but our server was excellent and apologized . Apparently they had several staff members call in which is terrible when they know it’s a busy holiday week. Our adult children loved the Chicken Parm. Would go back for that another time. Other entrees just ok! I give them 4 stars as last year when we went everything was amazing which is why we returned . I would call ahead and ask how sold out they are and if it’s full occupancy try another time

                                                                                      Johnny Costa’s is a wonderful option for dinner and is located on the quieter part of Palm Canyon Drive so it’s not as noisy and crowded as other restaurants. The Italian food exceeded our expectations and so did the friendly service! The linguini with clams and white wine sauce was fabulous. We will definitely be coming back here to dine again in the future!

                                                                                      Wonderful dining experience - AGAIN! This lovely family owned and operated establishment exudes the spirit and history of Palm Springs. The dishes are tasty and reasonably priced, and the cocktails are generous. The wine list has a full price range of delightful options. Whether "dressed up" or "desert casual," all guests are welcomed with open arms, warmth, and enthusiasm. Predictably one of the most friendly fine dining restaurants in the Coachella Valley.

The place is abuzz with desert revelers basking in the same climate and atmosphere still in PS here at Johnny Costas. Just sit back and know you’re where you should be. Living it up here in Palm Springs. You’re making history. And never a bad meal. Just amazingly consistent. You simply can’t go wrong. It’s Old School. Palm Springs.
