We’ve been regularly coming to Juno for a decade - it’s our go-to birthday and anniversary restaurant, it’s where we bring out of town friends and family, and on the odd occasion, it’s our Friday night take-out choice. Hopefully, when my kids start to eat more than just nuggets, it’ll be the place we can come as a whole family too! Never, not once, have they failed to deliver outstanding food coupled with thoughtful presentation and excellent service. How this place isn’t booked for weeks in advance boggles the mind (but I’m grateful because I can nearly always get a reservation). There’s lots of Japanese options in Chicago, but very few come close to the Juno experience. One hundred stars!

You can actually taste the fish at Juno, and that to me is marvelous. The flavors of each piece are there to enhance the protein, not to overpower it. Juno understands this. Our service was prompt and staff was friendly and inviting, bringing our dishes out at a perfect pace so we weren’t left waiting for food or playing Tetris with plates to make room for our order. An area for improvement that I noticed, and this may be a potential deterrent for future visits, is the acoustics in the dining room make it difficult to hear those at the table. The dining room had some rather rowdy or loud guests and it made hearing our server difficult as well as the person sitting right next to me. Maybe some acoustic panels placed strategically around the walls could be a solution to this. Other than that, the meal and experience was great!
