Opening in the most extraordinary of times, Kent Rd Bistro was founded in June 2020 and has already become a local favourite. In true bistro tradition, the food is French and Italian inspired, modern Australian.

Owned and run by husband and wife team, Tim and Victoria Michels, Kent Rd Bistro offers guests a relaxed and inviting place to come and enjoy delicious fare in the beautiful surroundings of the two dining rooms.

A BYO restaurant, the menu changes regularly offering the best of in season produce with a classic, modern and warm dining experience. Chef Tim Michels has over 25 years’ experience as head chef at haute cuisine restaurants in Sydney, Hunter Valley and Brisbane. Together with maitre’d Victoria Michels who delivers the finest hospitality, the couple make a formidable team.

Kent Road Bistro never disappoints. Being BYO is a welcome rarity that allows for our favourite choice of beverage for every occasion. The service is cheerful and perfectly unobtrusive. The food is always perfectly prepared. You’d be mad not to frequent this local eatery.

A pleasurable dining experience. Food was outstanding and well presented. Would have scored five stars if they had their liquor licence as didn’t realise currently BYO. A great local restaurant that is always busy with diners when we are driving by.

Tory was a marvellous hostess, ably assisted by the efficient and amiable Henry. Tim had chef duties in perfect synchrony to produce an enviable feast of flavours. The market fish was magnificent. What a marvellous dining experience. I highly recommend this venue.

We had a great night at Kent Road Bistro. Food was excellent and service was spot on. Great to find a quality restaurant that is BYO with reasonable corkage.

A great value suburban BYO. Good menu with adequate choices. Food was delicious. Service was very good and receptive. Also, better than average glassware. Overall a very good experience and we will definitely be back soon.

Great experience ... I haven't tasted fresher oysters - they were superb. A very generous steak frites was an excellent choice for main and reasonably priced. Love the BYO option so we can match the food with our favourite wines.
