King Tide Fish & Shell, led by Executive Chef Alexander Diestra, is a riverfront seafood restaurant and bar inspired by the laid-back fishing lodges of family vacations gone by. With sparkling waterfront views of the Willamette, a welcoming energy and a menu that ranges from no-fuss to fancy, here at King Tide we serve fresh, inventive seafood dishes with local ingredients that are uniquely Portland.

There aren't many places that command the vantage point we enjoy here at King Tide, so we like to make sure it lives up to Portland. We do that with a blend of the traditional and the non, the comfortable and the slightly twisted, the satisfying food and the swinging drink.

As we like to say, King Tide is where food & drink & people always complement each other, and everything goes with the view.

Salmon was out of this world. I NEVER eat salmon skin, but the way this was pan seared and then finished under broil, it left the skin delicately crispy and perfectly seasoned. Soooooo good.

In town for our grandson's tonsillectomy. Dinner was a delicious respite with impeccable service even food to go for our daughter. Would go again. Had beef Wellington for $19!

This is a beautiful restaurant and we so wanted to love. I saw a tik tok video that included coming here for holiday drinks and dinner after watching the boat lights from their patio. We decided to do just that- hostess didn’t really want to seat us on the patio and let us know multiple times that we would not have service out there and would have to order from the bar if we needed anything. We decided to just sit at the bar and wait for our reservation vs sitting outside- boats never came anyway…... drinks were amazing but bartender seemed irritated that we ordered them, food was good but steak was definitely not cooked to medium but pretty rare, hostess acted like we were new people every time we interacted with her and it was more than a few times…..overall, it was okay but with so many wonderful places in Portland, I won’t be going back.

After two years of having Thanksgiving Dinner at a large and noisy chain restaurant, we opted for King Tide this year. We had not been here before, and it was a great first impression. It was the perfect low-key Thanksgiving we needed. The food was top-notch, and the service was low-key but just right. We'll definitely be back to try out brunch and maybe lunch or dinner some other time. My son and husband had the turkey dinner special and they were both pleased with the quality of the meal. I ordered the special individual beef wellington along with a wedge salad from the regular menu. I am hooked on the wedge salad - it is the best I have ever had with the flavors/seasoning in the dressing. The beef wellington was great. I had never had beef wellington before (but I've definitely seen recipes for it), but it was delicious. For dessert we each tried a different dessert and shared bites with each other - the King Tide sundae, the Basque cheesecake and the pecan pie. All 3 were great! The restaurant opened at 2pm and our reservation was a 2pm, so there was no wait to be seated and our food arrived quickly.
