Originally opened by Jane Vobe in 1772, this authentic reproduction public house serves up a transporting experience for the senses in Colonial Williamsburg. Everything is true to the time period at King’s Arms Tavern, from the fashion sported by servers to the pewter candlesticks—all adding to an air of colonial elegance. Inspired by 18th-century recipes, but with updates to suit 21st-century tastes, tuck in to a chophouse menu featuring prime rib, pork chops, and more.

Originally opened by Jane Vobe in 1772, this authentic reproduction public house serves up a transporting experience for the senses in Colonial Williamsburg. Everything is true to the time period at King’s Arms Tavern, from the fashion sported by servers to the pewter candlesticks—all adding to an air of colonial elegance. Inspired by 18th-century recipes, but with updates to suit 21st-century tastes, tuck in to a chophouse menu featuring prime rib, pork chops, and more.
ADA Accessible dining is available in the Purdie Kitchen. Please note this colonial building is separate from King’s Arms Tavern. Please check-in at the front, and our host will escort guests to the Purdie Kitchen.
The taverns are located in the Historic Area, and not on a public street. The Tavern is a short walk from the Tavern Parking lot which is on Francis Street.

Wonderful experience — great, authentic recipes excellently prepared with fresh ingredients. Loved the entertainment with musicians performing in character from the 18tg century. Highly recommend.

This was another wonderful dining experience at the Kings Arms Tavern. Been goingo there since the 1970s. George has been my server the last three outings there. Please if you get the change get him as your server. You will not be disappointed at all. Got the prime rib this time and it was succulent. Sally Lunn Bread is a great staple. The only comment is the ham salad spread does not taste as good as it use to. IT has lost its sweetness. They changed the recipe I fear. Other than no music this evening. First time not having a musician going from room to room.

I had the peanut soup (my favorite )and the pork shoat. The entree was served with a delicious side of grits,chopped apple and barberries as well as green beans and sweet carrots. The meat was tender and tasty. I would order it again. My husband had a large salad, which he said was very filling, and the Cornish hen which was served with rice as well as carrots and green beans. The meals also came with Sally Lunn bread and a couple mini corn muffins. There was also a small offering of corn relish and a sweet ham spread. We drank the non alcoholic peach ginger ale. We ordered pecan pies to go because we were too full to enjoy them at the time. With tax and tip our bill was $170. Pretty pricey for this midwestern pair, but I’d spend it again.for the ambience, food and service.

After more than 70 visits in 46 years, this was our besy dining experience. The food was as good or better than in the past. But the team of Stephen, Miranda and Lee made dinner very entertaining and informative. We were in the 17th Century. Bravo, Tom and Carol
