   First time eating here. Quite busy but not too noisy for a Saturday evening. Flat-iron steaks and Lamb skewer starter were bith delicious. Very friendly and efficient staff, but got a few bits on our order wrong, although they corrected these promptly. Good value for money.

   We visited for a 70th birthday celebration we had an early booking on a Thursday night and ordered off the set menu. We had such a special meal the food was delicious I would recommend the beetroot starter , the croquettes and the chicken pie. The sticky toffee pudding with miso ice-cream and the chocolate mousse went down very well too. The front of house staff were very attentive and really made it a special occasion.

   First time visitor to the restaurant for an anniversary meal. Made us very welcome, nice pace to the service so it never felt rushed. Acknowledged the anniversary with a glass of bubbles, catered for gluten free really well. Great food, some difference slants on meals which was great. Black pudding scotch eggs and steak was great. Liv was our waitress and did a great job. Checking in on us to see everything was ok without being intrusive. Thanks for making it a cracking meal Liv and the other lady who welcomed us when we arrived. Will be back

   This is a really weird hotel and for this reason I recommend it. You collect the key to your room at the cafe next door where an older woman was unfriendly. There were three steps down inside the room with no handrail. The double bed had one side table but the bathroom was modern and good. Upon opening our curtains there were two discarded settees on one was a man having a cigarette. The following morning we went to the cafe for breakfast but were directed back to a very nice 15th century dining room where a lovely lady, Mos, was standing ing for the sick chef and anxious to please and provided varieties of a full English for four people. She was really good. Please give it a try. You never remember all the good bland hotels you stay at but we remember all the "different" ones.

   Great food, try the treacle bread and Guinness butter! Bit slow on service but probably because it was so busy. We were running late and they kindling held our table. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area

   Wow! We have found our new favourite local pub for a Roast dinner! We don’t normally do 3 courses if we go out for Sunday lunch but the menu looked so good we had to! The service was great, the decor warm but modern with a little luxe nod too. We loved the extra special touches. The roasts come with cauliflower cheese, a bowl of super crunchy potatoes (plenty) , an extra jug of gravy plus sauces for each roast meat. The Kite have thought of everything. My husband’s words were ‘Best roast I’ve ever had!’ That’s a big statement especially as a foodie. The starters & puddings were also insanely delicious. We will 100% be back on another day to sample the regular menu. Thank you.

   Another great meal at the Kite. Service was excellent and it wasn't too noisy as most tables were occupied by couples. We had starters of mussels, arancini and cauliflower croquettes, followed by short rib pie with decadent clotted cream mash, and bavette. Deserts of Rhubarb crumble to finish. All excellent. only small criticism, the black garlic aioli wasn't black and tasted a bit too vinegary and not of garlic. our son recommended the Sunday lunch to a friend who said it was great too. We look forward to our next visit!

    Came here last week and had a lovely chilled lunch. We both got the bavette steak which was delicious and Jess gave us a great wine recommendation to go with. Would always return here for great food and service!
