KUMOYA, is a Japanese Kitchen and Sushi Restaurant, the passion project of renowned sushi chef Corey Baker in collaboration with Max Mackissock, located in the heart of LoHi. We specialize in traditional sushi and innovative izakaya-style dishes with a modern Japanese twist. Our kappo-style dining concept allows guests to curate their own culinary adventure. Chefs Corey Baker and Max Mackissock draw inspiration from Kaiseki cuisine, celebrating the seasons and micro-seasons inherent in sushi and Japanese cooking, resulting in a dynamic, ever-evolving menu.

Join Chef Corey Baker for a magical night of sakes & deliciousness. Kumoya will be hosting an evening of wonderful sakes and phenomenal food. Let yourself be transported to Japan's different sake styles paired with Chef Corey's selections of culinary delights. The nights will be an education for you sake fans as well with GM Wes Zelio & Chris Johnson the "Sake Ninja" walking you through the history of the kuras (breweries) and their allocated expressions for the meal. What's included: Five course dinner & sake pairing for each course. A special sake taste to finish the night. Cancellations within 48 hours of reserved time will be subject to a $50 per reserved guest cancellation fee. Seating is limited for this event, so book early.

This is one of the best Japanese restaurants we’ve been to outside of Tokyo. The sushi was impeccable, and watching the chefs’ knife work was a pleasure. The service was just right. This quality of fish and service is not cheap, but unlike some other places, I think it was worth it.

Truly five-star, personalized service at the bar and at the restaurant. All the food from the milk bread sandwich, sushi, kara’age, house salad, skewers… everything was delicious. I highly recommend trying the Japanese beer + whiskey pairings.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but was not super impressed with the service or value. Drinks were good, but food did not overly impress us. Some members of our party weren’t used to a sushi menu, and felt uncomfortable based off the server’s reaction to questions on the menu.

An incredible experience at Kumoya at the sushi bar. Very helpful and friendly sushi chefs and manager. The manager was kind enough to even share a garnish recipe with us. The cocktails were complex and thoughtful. The food preparation was exquisite for the rolls, nigiri, and cold appetizers. The waygu tartare with foie gras shavings and milk bread is not to be missed! My other favorite was the 10 day dry aged amberjack nigiri. Can’t wait to come back!

Only ordered off sushi menu. Very pricey for what you get, which shouldn’t be surprising anymore. Only cold saki on menu (not hot). Trying to figure out which clientele they want to attract with menu so expensive yet sushi chefs were doing shots behind the bar. I’d rather travel the further distance to Sushi Den if spending this much.
