KUMOYA, is a Japanese Kitchen and Sushi Restaurant, the passion project of renowned sushi chef Corey Baker in collaboration with Max Mackissock, located in the heart of LoHi. We specialize in traditional sushi and innovative izakaya-style dishes with a modern Japanese twist. Our kappo-style dining concept allows guests to curate their own culinary adventure. Chefs Corey Baker and Max Mackissock draw inspiration from Kaiseki cuisine, celebrating the seasons and micro-seasons inherent in sushi and Japanese cooking, resulting in a dynamic, ever-evolving menu.

This was by far the best dining experience I’ve had in Denver. The food was absolutely amazing and the ambiance was so curated. We sat at the sushi counter and celebrated my best friends birthday and our chef was the best! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great sushi dinner with a great vibe.

Not just a meal, but an experience. The host was welcoming and acknowledged it was our anniversary. She was cheerful and inviting. The vibe and decor is the best of both worlds. The first room is bright with views of the kitchen and bar as they prepare dishes, while the other room is dark and moody, perfect for a romantic evening. The waitress was attentive, knowledgeable, and offered insightful recommendations to the dishes. Each dish was curated perfectly with a balance of flavor. The fish was incredibly fresh and melted in your mouth. The desert was the sweet finale and the perfect compliment to the dishes we had. Overall, an amazing evening, and definitely one of the best restaurants in Denver. I look forward to returning soon.

Went with friends. Had a fun shared dining experience. Loved the waygu tartare. The chef’s choice sashimi and nigiri were fun. Good sake selection as well. Service very good as well.

Been here twice. Went on NYE. Food is usually excellent. Last visit some of the rice was undercooked and the structural integrity of the rolls was poor. I expect better for a $30 roll. The bar is always great.

5 stars!!⭐️ It was the best omakase we’ve had. We left it all up to the chefs, but they allow you to customize your experience if you have things you like more or less. It was the perfect mix of sushi and items from the kitchen. The service was impeccable, every bite was delicious, and the presentation was beautiful! We will definitely be going back!

Wonderful dinner. The broiled eggplant was like nothing I've ever tasted - just delicious. Agadashi tofu and chicken skewers were also excellent.

As always the most amazing food and experience and the service is always top notch their sushi chefs are top notch and take the most amazing care of you! Already dreaming of next trip with great food and fun again!

The food was delicious. The fatty tuna was exquisite. Cocktails were good. The Hakuto had more of a smoke taste than I’d like, but yummy still. Next time I would skip cocktails and order more food. The crab fried rice was perfectly crispy and it was a nice large portion. The crispy scallops roll was incredible, and the Wagyu Tartare was perfect.
