Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

The food was ok, service a bit slow and the noise level was ridiculous. Why on earth would they play thumping music in the middle of the lunch hour? No thanks.

Wagyu carpaccio was underwhelming, overall lack luster. We were celebrating service was a bit rushed and server lacked personality.

                                                                                                                                      We were there for a birthday lunch, we loved the place, the ambience, the decor, we felt we were in a movie setting! Chris, our server was the kindest and most gentle server that we have ever had! The food was delicious, the profiteroles were to die for! Hope to go back soon!

                                                                                                                                      The setting and ambience was gorgeous for Christmas. The bar is stunning and the menu has a great selection. The actual serving experience was a bit underwhelming for the price point and the reputation of the NYC location. It took awhile to get our drinks and we had to refill our wine and water on our own - they just must have been busy! That’s ok - it’s the holidays!

                                                                                                                                      Just coming back from Paris, my husband and I decided we would organize his birthday dinner here as a loving nod to a wonderful experience abroad. The food was delicious and so very well presented. The wine was impeccable and cocktails were perfect. The ambiance, especially around the holidays, is unmatched. I will say it was surprisingly busy for a late evening dinner on a Tuesday and I think that made wait times for items longer than ideal. That being said, it was a top notch experience and we will be back!
