Really lovely little neighbourhood restaurant.
We received a warm and friendly welcome and the staff were all really attentive. Our starters of garlic soup and octopus were outstanding, however the main courses left us both a little disappointed. Unlike the starters, which were flavoursome and authentic..both main course left us a little disappointed. Both mains, but especially the duck l’orange seemed just a bit too ‘parred back’ with three perfect tiny ovals of duck…and a small swathe of baked fennel. Both elements were delicious with the perfect sauce, but we craved the more authentic moorish presentation of the starters…and a little more on the plate! The chef is so very talented, it seems a shame that he felt the need to go down the laboured Michelin presentation route, which with his flavour skills isn’t necessary. All that said…delicious dessert and we will be back, but more duck please!
