Legal Sea Foods Chicago is now open along the vibrant Riverwalk in the bustling River North neighborhood at the famous Marina Towers. Legal's first Midwest location features two floors of upscale casual New England vibes with sweeping riverfront views and an outdoor space. The brand-new restaurant features a large main dining room, bar area, private event space, and outdoor terraces. Went to Legal Seafood at Copley in Boston in August. This one in Chicago was exactly the same…Outstanding!! Tremendous food.

We had had a so-so experience at Legal Seafood in Boston years ago but decided to try it in downtown Chicago. Everything we were served was really great; we were pleasantly surprised and will probably eat there again before we head home to Houston.

The Chicago location of Legal Sea Foods is not worth a visit. I have gone to Legal in Boston for thirty years and always had a great meal. Chicago location should close. The Baked Anna haddock was a lump of dried up fish with old rice and burnt broccoli. Staff is friendly but food is atrocious.

Waited more than 45 minutes for two entrees with no explanation why. The beat the manager and server could do is blame the kitchen. There were 3 tables be serviced in the entire restaurant… mine and 2 others. If what we ordered was not available perhaps communicate that and offer something different… just makes sense to me. Either way for a first time experience it was not good at all.

Best clam chowder anywhere! Crab cake appetizer was all crab, no filler and tasty. Came with salad so was quite filling as my main course. The stuffies were delicious-2 in the order and a unique northeastern treat. Others in my party commented on size of Cesar and house salads-big enough to share. They loved the cod and halibut. I love the location on the river. A great addition to Chicago.

The food at the Boston locations are far better. The lobster bisque and clam chowder were watery.
