The Lighthouse Restaurant in Cedar Lake Indiana is an outstanding dining establishment. Never a bad experience. A real hidden gem. Great food and a wonderful dining atmosphere right on Cedar Lake. Great portions of food at reasonable prices. The quality of the food is truly exceptional! If you are passing through the area, stop and enjoy a wonderful dinner at the Lighthouse. You will not be disappointed.

I always start an establishment off with 10 points, 10 being the highest. Then a point can be remove for each shortcomings. My party started with cocktails and we all enjoyed the ones we ordered. First course, appetizers a shrimp cocktail and crab cakes were presented well and tasted very good, even though the crab cake portion were small and food temperature was lukewarm. Second course, soups lobster bisque and french onion presentation good and tasted even better, but again portions small and temperature was lukewarm. Three course, entrees of steaks, potatoes, and salads were very tasty and again a good presentation and portion were very good, but yet again temperature of steak and potatoes were only lukewarm. So, from a 10 down to eight. One point off for portion size and 1 for temperature. We also order a shareable of brussels sprouts that never came to the table. Eight down to seven, 1 point for not getting order correct. At this time, my party agrees that even though all the food was very tasty and well presented the establishment needs to work on portion and bring out courses hotter. The last point we are removing is because this upper scale establishments restroom our disgusting. You would think for the price one pays to visit to enjoy their food, that they would have a clean facility. Makes one wonder what it looks like in the kitchen. Over all points 6! Good, but not very good.

Excellent food, service, and Christmas decor! I recommend the crab cake appetizer, lobster bisque, filet medallions (tonight’s special), and their Christmas chocolate butter cake.
