Before the James Beard Award and the Gourmet Magazine review, Lotus of Siam was a small little hole in the wall located in Commercial Center in Las Vegas. November 1999 was the month Chef Saipin and her husband Bill took over Lotus of Siam. Since then, Thai food became an adventure for those willing to step out of their comfort zones for Asian Cuisine. Chef Saipin’s distinct cooking has been passed down from generation to generation, from both her grandmothers and her husband’s grandmothers. Her northern style cooking has opened America into the “Northern” world of Thailand, away from the Bangkok style of sweet and tang. The northern menu consists of hearty herbs and spices, along with Thai style stews and coconut-less curries. Through her set menus, our guests can dine and enjoy recipes from over 100 years in the Chutima family.

Our past visits here exceeds our expectations. This last visit however wasn’t the same. The timing of the food delivery was way off. The waiter was as attentive as he should be and the pace of our dinner just dining feel right. As an Asian restaurant, rice is a staple. So it should be served first. However, our dish was served second to last. Making us just pick at our food until the rice was served. By the time we received the rice, our meals were almost finished. Very unfortunate because we love this place so very much.

I love this place. I make sure to fine here every trip to Las Vegas. The food is so delicious with so many choices. The menu includes the typical items you see at most Thai restaurants (but better), but for those who are more adventurous there’s also many unique things you don’t see elsewhere. Reservations are definitely needed. The service is fast and friendly. Cocktails are great too. The dining room is lovely and lively because it is usually packed.

Chili basil with one protein, chicken, menu should make a distinction whether ground or sliced. It default preparation is ground.

our server was exceptional, very happy with the service. the food was solid but nothing mind blowing. Crispy shrimp was excellent!

Very good Thai food. Garlic shrimp were very good, eat the whole shrimp shell and all! Japanese Gin Martini was excellent.

Lotus is our #1 favorite restaurant not only in Las Vegas, but anywhere. The food is incredible, the service is always friendly and professional, and the wine list is outstanding. I can't recommend Lotus highly enough!
