Welcome to Lure Fish House, if your preferred reservation time is not available about half of our overall seating is unreserved for walk-ins. Our bar and oyster bar areas offer our full service menu and are open seating in order of arrival. Lure Fish House is a Ventura California based family-owned restaurant featuring the freshest sustainable seafood from trusted sources. Our Arizona Lure has its seafood order prepared in our own Ventura California seafood cutting facility and is directly driven to Arizona about 15 hours after it is ordered from the chef in Scottsdale. We feature organically grown local produce and wines from local vineyards whenever possible. We also feature a full bar with specialty cocktails made with freshly squeezed fruit juices and a raw bar serving a variety of fresh chilled seafood and oysters.

                                                                                      Our server Liz was incredible and we had the most delicious return visit, as I've probably been here six times since it opened last year. This food is so consistent and fresh. It's unbelievable. I wish the general manager was paying more attention to the Cal Poly calendars, knowing that there are a lot of people here who stay through on Monday on an event weekend because the servers were working, ridiculously hard to keep up with the demand of what would normally be and otherwise slow Monday night. The general manager should look at every Cal Poly calendar, from drop off dates of students to pick up dates of students to big game, weekends, to WOW and SLO days (yes, these are separate events, but all involve a parent driving a student to town and the parents staying there for 2 to 3 days) and recognizing that this is not like a normal tourist town. We have locals, we have Residence and then we have parents who come in and out regularly that keep the business going in this town. The GM's staff worked so incredibly hard, but it was near impossible to keep up with the demand on this Monday night. Our server Liz was off the charts incredible, and so was our hostess, who went above and beyond to assist, I think her name was Cally. I will always come back because the food is so good but the one thing that is frustrating is the amount of turnover management and the fact that just as a observer, I believe every Top manager needs to listen to the customers and their staff.

                                                                                      The food was wonderful. The sand dabs were outstanding and we loved the salad. Our waitress was cheerful and helpful. We're glad we tried Lure. Will probably come back on a week night or for lunch when they are not so busy.

                                                                                      Had a great experience overall. My only gripe is that I made a reservation for 7:30 pm and it still took 20 minutes to get a table. Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars across the board.

                                                                                      A great new addition to SLO My cod was almost raw and Luke warm. My husband had swordfish and loved it. The ambience was really beautiful. I will try a different dish next time.

                                                                                      Out of 5 people, 2 of us were served semi warm food. I did ask to have mine warmed up. They did warm it up but our server never came back until check out. Very disappointing. The food was okay but the serve was terrible.

                                                                                      A great experience! We ate here on New Year's Day, in celebration of our New Year's Eve anniversary. We showed up for our 7:00p reservation and were seated by 7:15p. Perhaps the only thing we didn't love about dinner was that we were seated right next to the door. The table was small and it felt a bit crowded due to the people moving past us. Having said that, everything about our dinner was great. Service was quick and done with a smile; the food was delicious; and the price was good. We ended up ordering a 3-course prix fixe meal, along with an appetizers and two sharable dishes. The seafood ceviche, mussels, and oysters were all fresh and tasty; the Harvest Chopped Salad was the perfect compliment to the Sea Bass; and the Sticky Toffee Pudding was a great way to end our meal. We highly recommend the Lure Fish House in SLO!

                                                                                      We’ve been once before and this was not a great experience. I realize it’s New Years Day but if the service is going to be so slow and bad maybe you should reconsider whether or not you should be open. It took forever to get any service or check in. The initial table given to us (it was very empty at 5pm) wouldn’t work because the super tall high chair puts the baby a foot away from the table?? Should not be considered a solution, ever. Also took at least 10-15 min to be greeted by our waiter. I think it kind of sucks that because we weren’t in the bar area I can’t order a fish taco? I love fish tacos but wasn’t able to order one. I would have gladly paid a non-happy hour price. Food was mediocre. Oysters were good, shrimp cocktail was a bit overcooked, 2 people ordered lobster roll and didn’t like it. A lobster roll should be big chunks of fresh lobster, not a lobster salad (like a crab or tuna salad). The crab cakes were of similar nature. Again I can understand it’s a holiday but we would have rather gone elsewhere if we knew it’d be so disappointing.

                                                                                      Our New Year’s Eve celebration couldn’t have gone better! From the amazing, delicious libations enjoyed at the bar to the excellent service provided by Kale, our server, the night was truly unforgettable. I highly recommend Lure!

                                                                                      We’ve eaten here many times since it opened fairly recently; it’s a great addition to our restaurant scene. The dining room is very sophisticated but it was a little too dark last night. We had to use the light from our phone to read the menu since the little candle didn’t do much and the light fixtures were very dim, creating a nice atmosphere but too extreme. We told our server, Kale, that we were going to the symphony so he was quick to put in our orders and get us out in time. The food seems consistently good but I’m not sure if I would order the salmon again. The piece was thin and a little overcooked. Overall, we were pleased.
