This was our first time at Maison Mere. The chair backs were very uncomfortable to sit. It was a busy night, but we were in a corner and it took 2 hours just to have an appetizer, main course and dessert. The food was good, but the service compared to the other restaurants in the area was excruciatingly slow and felt like we were not paid much attention to. Will most likely not be returning.

The steak grilled at table-side was excellent. The lobster soup tasted like it came directly out of the lobster pot water - not good. It was the service that was stunningly bad. We ordered cocktails and immediately the server wanted to take our orders. Before two sips of our cocktails the food was served by someone else. We never saw the waiter again until we flagged him down for the check. We were looking forward to a relaxing evening with time to enjoy our cocktails and then a nice wine with our dinner. Not a chance - we were in and out in only 45 minutes.

Do not miss dining at this absolutely wonderful gastronomic experience! The atmosphere is elegant but open air and delightful. The tables are nicely spaced so the noise level is low and you can actually carry on a conversation! The owner greeted us and encouraged us to try new foods. We started with the bone marrow and braised oxtail. We are not bone marrow fans but it was out of this world. It was more solid and tasted like tender beef short rib. We each had the trigger fish that was wrapped in a banana leaf and cooked in a clay shell. Again, another phenomenal dish served with fettuccine. We had tiramisu for dessert. It was spooned out of a large dish as is traditional. It was delicious. The other dessert was a rum cake served with a pineapple flambéed in caramel and rum. The staff was attentive and engaging and the chef finished some of the dishes at the table. We are only on the island for a week but are changing our plans to dine there again.

Excellent dinner/drinks and venue!! This is a definite repeat dinner location next time on the island!!! Highly recommend for a very nice dinner out!

Restaurant affilié au bar de plage coco beach. 2 lieux exceptionnels tant sur la qualité de service que la nourriture. La Maison Mère faisant l’exploit d’être encore meilleure. Un incontournable à Orient Bay

Great oysters esp Marenne d’Orleans and cheeses. Dover sole was too thin and small but tasted fresh and flavorful.
