The service was awful. Forgetful waitress that was frankly rude…the restaurant wasn’t even full.

We had an excellent meal. I find Maison Mere has the best ambiance and the staff are outstanding. Definitely recommend a visit while you are in Orient Bay.

We stopped here for a cocktail before dining elsewhere one night. Bar was superb-very reasonable wines by the glass, plus wonderful craft cocktails. Came back for dinner, which was a lovely experience. Lots of fairly theatrical tableside preparations. Highly recommend the tilefish in banana leaves and also the steak, which was flambéed tableside with a deliciously piquant sauce. We split a couple desserts, which were also quite good, especially the little puff pastry bites filled with cream and served with caramel and chocolate dipping sauces. One note of caution: if you are in a hurry, this is not your place. Service is leisurely verging on ‘where did they go?’. But we were on vacation. We poured our own wine, eventually flagged down a waiter for more water, and enjoyed our evening. I’d come back.

The food was indescribably terrible. We had 3 guests that ordered the squid appetizer… they were delivered cold… and had to send them all back…… retuned warm and not tender. 2 ppl ordered fois gras… was severed as a cold country pate. So after a bad 1st round… we had concerns about our mains. Three people ordered the paella… again cold and dry. We sent those back only for it to return as burnt rice and drier . I believe the other order was some type of pork … all I can do to describe it as being some type of pressed rolled dry pork. Finally we had one person with a salad as a main… was swimming in salad dressing. Needless to say…a disastrous meal. I understand a new chef is there… we had gone to give the new chef a try… sadly… will not be back which is too bad… as the staff are great the atmosphere is lovely… but you go to a restaurant for quality food … I hope management does the right thing … and finds a GOOD new chef
