Pulling inspiration from the infamous Katharine Hepburn quote muraled to the wall, “If you obey all the rules, you’ll miss all the fun”, we are doing just that. T. Executive Chef Dan Logan curated a brilliant menu featuring handmade pastas, savory dinner entrees and a lunch menu for those on-the-go or others looking for leisure. We offer a two hour parking validation in the Giant Grocery garage, so please make sure to bring your ticket with you.

A few standouts include a Black N’ White Clam Linguini, Grilled Branzino and Southern Surf N’ Turf which includes blackened filet, butter poached Maine lobster, and corn succotash. This location will also highlights a chef-driven brick oven menu featuring a variety of Oven-Fired Oysters, Baked Brie, Flatbreads and French Onion Soup. On the weekend, a brunch Family-Style Menu showcases culinary delights such as Maryland Crab Cake Benedict, Warren’s Fine Fried Chicken & Waffles, and bottomless Mimosas

We arrived on a Wednesday night for birthday reservations at about 6:45PM EST. There were a few people at the bar, and another family of diners. Overall the ambiance was very friendly, mostly quiet, open, super clean, and seating was organized very well. Our waitress was very nice and on point, and did a superb job overall. We ordered a few drinks that were very tasty, and everyone seemed to enjoy their food. For my personal experience, I was extremely happy. I ordered the Moroccan “Impossible” Kebabs that paired nicely with a Modelo. I fell in love with Moroccan food when I was there in 2006 with the US Marine Corps prior to an Iraq deployment. We were in Agadir, Morocco (and various other locations within the Sahara) doing interpolation exercises with Moroccan Armed Forces. Experiencing their food and culture left a lasting impression on me. When I saw the Moroccan “Impossible” Kebabs on the menu, I was sold. First, I’m a meat eater, but I don’t mind venturing out into vegan options if they are available. These Kebabs - I could not tell the difference. So much so, I would change over to vegan in a heartbeat if I knew what brand “impossible” plant-based meat they used. Besides that, my first bite instantly brought back the nostalgia from my time in Morocco. Every flavor was on point; the harissa aioli, the heat from the Fresno chilis, all of the spices… it was like I was back in Morocco for the first time. The only thing I think could be added to the dish would be chickpeas, but that’s a personal preference. It was a wonderful dish, and it brought back many great memories. We will certainly be back the next time we visit family in D.C. Well done, and thank you!

I absolutely love Makers Union Cathedral Commons! They are such a great addition to the neighborhood. I love the vibe of their outdoor seating, especially. As always, the service was impeccable: friendly, attentive, efficient. The food was delicious. We ordered the specials for Black restaurant week, and thought they were outstanding.

Food was exceptionally salty overall. Impossible kabobs toughness and tastelessness not overcome by quite good accompaniments. Burger bun saturated by juices so it had practically dissolved on arrival. Impossible to pick up.

My roommate and I came in to celebrate her starting a new job and Makers was the perfect special occasion spot. The service was attentive but not overbearing and all the food was delish. Will be returning 🫡
