   We were delighted with last night's dinner at Merèon! The food and service (Peter) were both excellent - using pasta shells for the escargot added a new and delicious dimension for us! The bonus was our enjoyment of Adam the musician on guitar and harmonica. Normally, we avoid live music in a restaurant - too loud and too interfering in our quiet, personal conversation. However, Adam was very special and it added immensely to our evening at Merèon! We will be back, on another Sunday, when Adam is playing.

   First time trying this cute, classy restaurant with live music. Everything was delicious, I ordered French endive salad; very tasty combination of little sweetness mixed with blue cheese yummy and for main I ordered duck confit with seasonal vegetables in a sweet and sour plum sauce. I liked how duck was prepared and flavoured. Desert was chocolate profiteroles. Everything was delicious. Loved everything. I will definitely come back ❤️

   Got the burger - bun could have been warmed a bit / toasted on one side. Felt cold to touch. Fries not served with ketchup - just a peppercorn sauce which was in a very shallow dish so you couldn't get a good dunk into. I asked for ketchup and they obliged. I feel like they changed the recipe for the chicken liver mousse and only gave 5 tiny triangles of brioche toast. They did offer more, but didn't really like the mousse's taste, so didn't bother. Service was friendly but not overly attentive. For being dead, they could have seated us at a 4 seater booth, but we were seated at a tiny table. The burger patty was not that great. How could you screw up a burger, you ask? Well, tiny components all executed well combine to form a good burger, but there were elements to this that fell short. There wasn't a tang to it at all, overly greasy, bun cold... It was meh.

   Risotto & escargot were absolutely delicious. Sablefish was ok. Good quality but not memorable. Wonderful wine selection. Service was poor unfortunately, our server was inattentive, had to be waved over to take our order and to give us the bill, and cleared plates without asking if we were finished (I wasn’t!)
