“I wanted to do a place with good Italian comfort food. The simplicity of it, the freshness of it, the quality of ingredients that you get to work with.” They specialize in that quintessential Italian comfort food – pizza. “I think it’s great that the city of Boston is turning around and starting to become known for pizza like the other big cities in the country,” he said. “It is such a simple food but it all comes down to the quality of ingredients.” It’s all done out of an open kitchen where the star of the show is Molinari’s wood burning oven.

Server was very nice but not super attentive and drinks were empty for quite a while before we could track her down for refills. It was busy so I’ll give her that but what really irritated me was that you have to have reservations and it clearly states on their website that there is a time limit to your seating so why we had to wait twenty five minutes for our table baffled me. The noise level is so bad that you can’t hear the people at your table speak because the tables are practically on top of each other and all you can hear is everyone else’s conversations. A few hours after posting this review, which is mediocre in my opinion, I was harassed and stalked by the owner of the restaurant. He called my personal cellphone, left a voicemail and then proceeded to text me. After telling him I wasn’t interested in speaking the texting continued. This visit to Molinari’s was my first and I did plan on giving it another shot but after being harassed by the owner it is a one and done experience and it was DEFINITELY NOT worth the $200 I dropped there. An expensive disappointment! What kind of business owner does this after a mediocre review? I wonder how he would have reacted if I gave a terrible review….

Food is excellent, including extremely fresh pasta. From the hostess to the wait staff, everyone extremely friendly and kind. And the area has a great vibe with many bars to grab a drink either before or after.

                                                                                                                                    I absolutely love the ricotta gnocchi with creamy pesto. It is melt in your mouth amazing! I also love the Bruschetta Pomodoro brings me back to my time in Naples Italy! This is a great little place for a casual date night. Sitting is very tight and you will be able to see, hear and smell your neighbors dishes but at the Bar top is one of my favorite spots to sit watching the kitchen staff prepare all the delicious dishes right there in the open. This is one of my top Dorchester spots!
