Mona Lisa Mare e Monti , in San Francisco, serves classic Italian dishes crafted with top-quality local and seasonal produce in its charming and welcoming eatery. Mare e Monti is located in the Heart of North Beach's Little Italy. Our Restaurant specializes in Authentic Italian Seafood and Steaks. We also offer a variety of different cuts of Pasta's, which are created in house everyday! We are best known for our Bistecca Fiorentina, which is a 24oz porterhouse steak. Our Seafood is brought to use daily by our local Fishermen. Some of our most popular seafood dishes are our Zuppa Di Pesce or our Whole Dungeness Crab plate. But the food took forever and we were late for a show. I let them know we had to be at a show before hand and they assured there would be plenty of time. Oh well. They were nice and the food was pretty good.

                                                                                                                                    This is a fabulous place for an Italian Dinner experience! It is family owned and you feel as though you are family! The owner even sat with us for a bit! Food was so good! First we had a Smoky Old Fashion! The best! We then had their Caesar Salad, Porterhouse Steak, limoncello Vanilla Bean for dessert and a cappuccino! Highly recommend this family owned restaurant!

We had a great variety of appetizers and entrees wine and cocktails. Great charcuterie, frito misto and scallops. Pastas in particular Cacio e Pepe were strong. Branzino and Halibut were also very good. Owner Mauricio is very welcoming and bartender Bobby is very talented and engaging.

We had a reservation, but needn’t bothered, it was mostly empty. I am guessing the locals gave figured the grand old lady is on the skids. Whatever you do, avoid the carbonara. A new chef wearing a blindfold could not have done worse.
