The food was quality and tasty. However, had a lobster pasta dish, very small serving and very pricey. The large high-back booths prevent sight of other dinners, so cozy and private if that is your jam. Overall, over priced for Louisville, compared to a fine dining restaurant such as Morton’s Steakhouse, just a few blocks away. This was a special occasion, birthday and News Years, but no recognition of occasions. Service was great.

Our meal, service, and overall experience, was fantastic at Monk’s Road. They are creative with their flavor combinations. The courses were well-timed. The cocktails were tasty, and their wine list is diverse with very appealing options. Ted was our server. He was well-versed on the details of everything on the menu, and has the perfect personality for fine dining service. He made sure our experience was a lot of fun!

Dinner was great. We really enjoyed ourselves. Only thing, when the five of us walked in the hostess tried to see us sit us in a booth out in the bar area. The bar area was empty and we’re right by the kitchen. I asked if they had the tables in the dining area like I requested. They did and she moved us to great round table, there were other diners, much better atmosphere. Not sure why they didn’t send us there to begin with, but otherwise the service was great and the food and drinks were excellent.

Service was extremely friendly from the minute you sit down. Moscato & old fashioned were fantastic. My husband started with oysters and said they were the best he ever had, split the Caesar salad & it was plenty. I had the chicken dish and he had the New York strip. When I say this is the perfect mix of fine dining & just enjoying a night out, it is. Best steak & chicken we've had at a restaurant. Price point is a little higher than anticipated but every bit worth it. We will be back.

Nice place. Food was above average but not worth the cost. I’ve eaten better higher end food elsewhere for less.

This was our second visit and it was just as great as the first. We could not remember the wine we had on that first visit, but our server took it upon herself to look it up and brought a bottle out to us. I thought that was amazing. It’s the little things, isn’t it? We love Monks Road and will definitely go back to Louisville for the night, just to eat there. it’s so worth the trip. Thanks for another great experience!

Upon arrival we had a friend cancel on us. There was an elderly couple who had just by chance walked in hoping to get a table for dinner. I overheard the conversation and I immediately wanted to give them my reserved table as my other friend expressed interest in us sitting at the bar. The Host was surprised by my gesture as were the couple. They rushed them to their table and we took our seats at the bar. We ordered our drinks which came up promptly and then we ordered our food. A little later we were informed that they had lost internet and that there will be slight delay in our food as they had to manually submit their tickets. Luckily for us, we weren't on a time crunch and ordered a second martini. Our Calamari arrived shortly afterwards and was cooked to crispy perfection. Then our entrées came out and as expected it was all DELICIOUS! Perfecly cooked Filet, Tuna Crudo, Broccolini & The Lobster Mac & Cheese. Not only was the service great but our Bartender was a joy to interact with. She displayed a great wealth of knowledge & professionalism yet was very sociable when discussing a couple of topics. Overall, this was a great night!
