Mr. Tipple’s heralds back to a 1950s NYC basement. Cozy. Dark. Boozy. The intimate setting features local jazz artists up close and personal. It’s a joint where you come as you are, hear great music, tap your toes, and sip a properly chilled cocktail.

My name is Mr. Tipple. Just a simple and laughable bloke hailing from London. I run a recording studio. My friends joke that you’ll oft find me spinning cocktails, not reeling tape. After a few too many, I usually just sit back and enjoy the music, having forgotten to hit record. Regardless, the band is always jiving, the whiskey is always cold, and we’re having a smashing good time.

Amazing! We saw Nick Rossi’s Jazzopaters. Loved everything about the night. The club, the music, the drinks, the food. I will be back. What a great value, too! Again, amazing!

Tonight was our first time at Mr. Tipples, but it certainly won’t be our last. Nick Rossi and his jazz ensemble, THE JAZZOPATERS: AND ELLINGTONIA UNIT are all first class jazz musicians, and their take on Duke Ellington’s music was spot on. The venue has the classic small nightclub ambiance, and delicious dim sum options and great cocktails are served by great wait staff.

Simply amazing. A gem in SF. I’m not a jazz expert but the energy in the room and the performance was incredible. Lovely cozy venue and super music. The food and drinks were quality and service great. Absolutely must come back for more!

It was my first time visiting this venue. The decor and atmosphere were splendid. The staff were all pleasant and professional. I would definitely return for a future show should there be one I am interested in.

Choose a band you like (Alpha Rhythm Kings this time) and you absolutely positively can't go wrong. Get a table by the wall or bar for ez dancing access or a low table by the stage if you're a sit-down type that likes sit-down type music...

Solid place!!! It reminds me so much Smallz jazz club in New York - and their food (bao option is amazing and very filling!) was excellent. Going to be a regular moving forward

What an incredible experience I had in Mr. Tipples. From the amazing host to the servers and the entire kitchen team, what an epic and delicious adventure. I was very excited to experience some delicious food while the food was so good! And the drinks were made to perfection. Thank you, everyone; you guys crushed it.

Loved and enjoyed it. Just did not like the 90mins at the table. I was just starting to enjoy the music and we had to move. The option was to sit at the bar but the bar was so crowded that we decided to leave.
