Please note that the visibility of the setting sun varies throughout the year, and while the sky will remain beautifully lit up, the setting orb of the sun may be partially obscured, offering a unique and intimate ambiance.” Minimum Two guests ($280 for two): One ounce Golden Osetra Caviar - (serves two), Includes two glasses of Louis Roederer "Collection 244" Brut Champagne, cured egg yolk, chives, creme fraiche, shallots, smoked sturgeon pate, taro chips, and buttermilk blinis. We were treated to an amazing final sunset of 2024 with champagne in hand and then escorted to their 5 course tasting menu for new years eve. The amuse bouche with uni was excellent as was the Kampachi done with a garlic chili oil in a kind of South Asian style. The dessert was also a standout both for presentation and taste. Mugen is not inexpensive but there is thought and refined technique in every dish which is worth the price.

Costly, but great breakfast and service. I ate wonderful eggs Benedict with lobster, while my partner had the Salmon Avocado Toast. Both were wonderful.

The atmosphere was great. The service was impeccable. Since the pandemic, I'd morn the lack of restaurants with this kind of services. The food was great. All the courses were tasty. Every bite is a combination of different complementing and contrasting textures and taste. The only thing I can pick on were the meat courses. We ordered the A5 wagyu and the lamb. While the wagyu has the right mouth feel to me, the pieces we got had several connective tissues and it was a little to rare for me (it was rare). The lamb was a little tough. I was expecting a medallion from the rack of lamb, but it didn't seem the case. The fishes were outstanding, however. The aji was incredible. It was flaky and cooked to perfection, with a char on the skin. When the cheese course came, the waiter said in France, they normally serve cheese before the desserts. It's true, but they usually have a cheese cart and serve cheese with cracker or bread. But it was a tasty course nonetheless. The was a surprise panna cotta palette cleanser / pre-dessert. It was light and perfect before the dessert. The staff did not ask or offer coffee or tea, and I didn't think of ordering one then, but it would have perfectly complement the chocolate and end a perfect night.

Looks pretentious but not pretentious at all! Amazing service with staff that are really knowledgeable about the food and wine. Probably the best restaurant in Honolulu.

We enjoyed an outstanding dining experience - from the moment we arrived, to the moment we departed. The food was exceptional, with complex flavors and a beautiful presentation. The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I would highly recommend this dining establishment.

This is the one of my best course dinner. Mugen is not only sophisticated tastes but also waiters are very well manners but able to carry a little conversation between courses which made us forget waiting periods. We were able to enjoy both meals and services at Mugen. It definitely worth of price of meal and time.

We enjoyed our Christmas Eve dinner here. The food was plated very artistically but it was flavor that took my breath away. It was a triumph for the chef.

The staff is by far one of the best teams I've experienced. Douglas the Sommelier is one of the best! We tried the 6 course pairing and thought it was worth every penny. Highly recommend.

OMG! What a gastronomic delight! Everything in the prefixe menu was excellent and beautifully presented. We also received the cutest mini brioche with two types of butter in shape of puzzle pieces. So good! Wagyu beef was so tastefully done! They even gave us a parting gift which was a tube if Valrhona chocolate either hazelnuts. Serve was excellent! Definitely going back!
