Visitors to the Las Vegas Strip in the mood for authentic southern cuisine need look no further than the just-like-Grandma-used-to-make dishes of Executive Chef Mario Nichols, a transplant from the kitchen of this restaurant's North Carolina original location. Grandma is real, too: Nellie was the grandmother of Kevin Jonas, Sr., "Papa Jonas" to the fans of his famous sons, and the founder of Nellie's. The food - including freshmade biscuits, shrimp and grits, and chicken and dumplins, shares top billing with Nellie's hospitality and decor. The gorgeous venue, located within the District of MGM Grand, opposite the Grand Garden Arena and close to Wet Republic, Top Golf and the MGM convention center, is open 7 days for lunch and dinner. Come by to watch the game on our HUGE main screen, or to listen to some live music!

                                                                                                    Loved the vibe, surprised it wasn’t more crowded. Cool decor. Every staff member was incredibly sweet. Our waiter was a total sweetheart, I suck at names. The drinks were spot on! The food was delicious! Pimento dip, yum! Biscuits were good! Strawberry jam was delicious! Food was really good, just salty- I guess to be expected! Chicken and gravy was great! Was a nice break from steak!

                                                                                                    The management and our server made me feel so special! I’ve never been to the south, but I would imagine that the staff at Nellie’s were the perfect example of southern hospitality. I had the fried chicken and green beans which was phenomenal. By the time I left, my belly was full, and I felt like I was a part of the family at Nellie’s. I will definitely be making this a regular stop every time I go to Las Vegas!

                                                                                                    We usually stay at the MGM and had never been here before. We had a party of 7 on Saturday night. Blackjack dealer recommended Nellie’s and they could get our large party in. The men loved it since there are TVs everywhere and s had sports on when we were there. We had outstanding service. It is a casual atmosphere. Food was good, however did seem a little expensive for casual southern food. Overall a very good experience.

                                                                                                    Great service and exceptional food!! The collard green and artichoke dip was mind blowing, the fried fish actually tasted fresh, and was fried and seasoned to perfection same with the fried chicken. 10/10 will definitely be back!!

                                                                                                    We were not sure what to eat before we flew out of Vegas, but were all able to agree on southern food. This far exceeded our expectations - both the service and the food were outstanding. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken, which was comparable to what I've had in Nashville itself. The mac and cheese was great, and the biscuit appetizer with jam and cinnamon butter were fantastic. Definitely check this place out.
