Its a nice space. Service was very good. Food was ok. If not at PAC for a show, which we were, it wouldn't make my list.

We had a beautiful experience at Nico during a special birthday weekend. Nico's is contiguous to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, so if you're going to a show there, it is ultra convenient. Beyond the convenience, though, and the reason ANYONE looking for a terrific dining experience in Newark should choose Nico, is the scrumptious food, the warm and friendly service, and lovely ambience. The shrimp scampi, steak fries, autumn salad, and cheesecake were all delicious. The wine selection is a bit limited, but the Sommelier obviously takes pride and care in the wine selections and attended to us personally, and with class and warmth. Great experience that will motivate us to return to Nico and, yes, The New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

Food was good - we ordered a series of tasty apps. Server admitted she was new when I asked what beers where on tap ( as menu directs to ask server) and she had to ask (give her a pad to take orders and have beers listed?). Ordered a beer and she returned with it after extended delay (few tables 2 bartenders not sure how delayed) and later again - when ordered second. Wife says she could see our drinks at bar - - I was close to just getting them. 4 tables in our section occupied . Tip…hustle the drinks as tips will elevate with bilI. I don’t drink a lot but NEVER should be thirsty. I literally was - I like beer with pizza. Oh..tables looked like alot of water was on cloth to clean and the water glasses seemed glued to table. Just was an off feeling with dinner overall but food (apps) were good! If you are seeing a show at NJPAC… couldn’t be more convenient.

Pre-show meal was great! Food, service, ambiance was all very good! Server was personable and tho G’s came in a timely manner! Would recommend! Will return and eat here prior to a show again!

The last time I ate at this location (pre-Nico), it was noisy, and overpriced, with mediocre food and poor service. What a delight to be at Nico’s - lovely soft music, tables placed a comfortable distance from each other to minimize the noise, excellent and pleasant service, and good food at reasonable (by today’s standards) prices. Sorry I avoided coming here before an NJPAC performance for so long!

First time to enjoy a warm cocktail experience with dinner to follow. Our servers were attentive, our dinner was tasty and the ambiance in the bar area felt like home.
