On an elegant West End Terrace, not far from the Royal Botanical Gardens and the Stockbridge area, No.35 at The Bonham Restaurant is a character rich dining room, which combines classical elegance with the contemporary.

Not your ordinary hotel restaurant

The wood panelled restaurant is an intimate, distinctive and cosy retreat. Following an extensive refurbishment, No.35 blends traditional elements, luxurious fabrics and timely touches that reflect the original Georgian roots of the building. Options for vegetarians were very limited but nonetheless excellent. Quite a late booking not not rushed in any way.

My daughter and I took a friend for afternoon tea for her birthday the staff brought her afternoon tea stand complete with a candle and a plate with Happy Birthday written on it in chocolate with fresh raspberries. It was such a lovely touch.

Our Hogmanay Dinner experience at The Bonham was outstanding and one to remember. The surroundings, ambience, atmosphere,food and particularly the service was second to none. The staff were excellent in all departments. My wife Ann and I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.

Tolles Restaurant. Das Ambiente war dem Abend angemessen. Sehr gutes Personal mit hervorragendem Service. Das Essen war köstlich. Außergewöhnliches Erlebnis.

Our first afternoon tea experience won’t be our last. We could not have asked for a better atmosphere (beautiful space in the bar lounge with seats by the window) and the tea and pastries (and sandwiches) were both excellent. The restaurant was sensitive to my partner’s dietary needs. Our server was very attentive but the staffing was stretched a bit thin by a birthday party going on in the main restaurant. Our server had to do double duty at the bat, so it took a bit longer to get the bill. We hope to have dinner there the next time we visit Edinburgh.

Overall we enjoyed our Xmas meal but it wasn’t exceptional and it wasn’t value for money. It was well overpriced for what we ate! Oh well never mind, it was Christmas, but wouldn’t choose to eat here again. Their cream tea was very average too! Beautiful hotel however , the bedroom was extremely comfortable and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful Christmas lunch at Bonham's. It was the first time we'd eaten out for Christmas and some of the diners (with more traditional tastes) were reluctant to eat out for Christmas but with each course served they were won round more and more. Afterwards they said how much they enjoyed the experience and what a treat it had been. The staff were also lovely and they helped create a relaxing and friendly atmosphere.
