Beautiful restaurant with great service and ambiance. The food was good with great presentation, but a little on the pricey side. It made for a great date night. We were both very impressed.

My meal at Noka was an absolute delight! The Hamachi Sashimi was a fresh, buttery start, and the Miso Cod was perfectly tender with a rich umami glaze. The XO Fried Rice was delicious! The atmosphere, a blend of modern elegance and rustic charm, added to the experience, making it feel intimate yet vibrant. Our server was superb—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic, enhancing every evening aspect. I highly recommend Noka for a memorable night of refined Japanese-inspired cuisine. Don’t skip the Brussels Sprouts!

Who doesn’t like half price sushi night? My only nit was that the shrimp tempura roll and the soft shell crab roll tasted like the cooking oil which really shouldn’t happen if you’re changing the oil often enough (or using the correct type of oil). Dry aged salmon nigiri was a highlight! Great service and cocktails!

The entrance sets the tone for the night. Once we were seated the ambient noise, atmosphere, and service took over. The food was an experience and worth every penny. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting great food and unique energy.

Some tables (ours) are very dark, we needed our phones to see the menu. The service was amazing, but I thought some of the food fell flat. I had the cod which had a great flavor but there was a bone in my first bite. It also came with a rice crisp that was visually nice, but not very edible. My party also had the filet which was ordered medium but came rare. Again the flavor was good, but the presentation seemed to be trying too hard to be fancy or elegant. We'd go again, but it would be nice if they focused more on the dish elements versus making it look gourmet. The decor is nice and location is also fun. The door is a large wooden unconventional weighted door; we walked the entire perimeter looking for the entrance before we realized the door was actually on the corner.

Delicious! I wish the entrance to the restaurant was more evident bc it took me quite a while to figure out how to get inside. I was told the owner wanted it to look like a speakeasy. Well, mission accomplished! The sweet potato dishes were delicious favorites

Noka is our favorite midtown spot for a nice evening out... Great energy, ambience and aesthetics combined with excellent service and of course the food. There's not any other place in KC in my estimation where you can indulge in a perfectly prepared piece of Cod, seared Wagyu, inventively seasoned chicken wings, a crab capanelle pasta, amazing sprouts and creatively prepared sushi rolls (our recent order). The small plates allow you to experience a number of different creative dishes and the menu is a delight to explore. Great cocktails and desserts as well and we appreciate the nice Non-Alcohol drink menu. We love how invested the owner is in midtown, our neighborhood.
