Located at the historic Gardner Hardware Building at 515 Washington Ave N in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis. The NOLO's team consists of Marty Collins, Brett Johnson and Peter Hoff, each native Minnesotans with extensive industry experience. Marty has owned over 10 restaurant concepts in Minneapolis, MN, Kansas City and Columbia, MO, and Iowa City, IA. Brett and his family have owned and operated The Hilltop Restaurant for the past 40 years. Pete, the head chef, brings his most recent culinary experience and creativity from California to NOLO’s, The Rooftop Bar and The Basement Bar. His culinary vision and passion for local ingredients create new modern comfort food dishes. The team shares a passion for the restaurant and bar industry and sees an opportunity to fill gaps in the market in the North Loop.

    We had a disappointing experience here all the way around. Asked for a booth (we had a reservation), was declined saying they were saving them for larger groups than our four. Which is fine, but all the other booths were filled with four tops and two booths stayed totally open for the full hour we were there. The chicken and biscuits with wild rice gravy was dry and hard to eat, and the service was not rude but apathetic at best. Would not return or recommend.

    Everything was so delicious. We had the tomato basil soup, apple pecan salad, and butternut squash ravioli, all outstanding! The service was fantastic, attentive and helpful. One of my favorite places in the North Loop.

    The service was excellent especially for the busy brunch time. The fried chicken was absolutely delicious full of flavor.

    We made a reservation and I am glad we did. The place was packed. We were seated right away and had a comfy booth. Despite the open concept dining room- we had no problem conversing. The staff was attentive a d helpful. A lot of choices for appetizers and one person nominated the chicken ranch pizza. Amazing. Great thin crust. Lighting dressed but full of flavor and tasty! We order 3 kale salads with salmon. A few diners asked to sub kale for leaf lettuce- no problem. The roasted cauliflower was lightly toasted and tender. The dressing was light and refreshing- not too heavy. Asian bowl was plentiful and delicious. We closed the place without knowing everyone left. It was like having dinner party in ur own home. No one rushed us out or reminded us of closing. We had a wonderful time.
