Welcome to OKU by Takato!

Fans of the Japanese-Korean restaurant Takato at The Conrad will take a liking to its new sister concept, Oku by Takato. The private, 10-seat omakase (meaning “chef’s choice”) lounge led by executive chef Taek “Taka” Lee is accessible through a hidden entrance. Once inside, guests embark upon a culinary journey of more than 15 courses, underscored by ingredients flown in fresh from Japan and Korea. Guests please note the following updates to our schedule and menu pricing :
Thursday through Sunday Omakase is $250.00 per person before tax & grat

Just a heads up it’s more of a Kaiseki experience instead of a pure omakase featuring nigiri. But the meal was absolutely fantastic and every course was amazing. The staff really took care of you and the chefs were so fun to talk to and learn from. Looking forward to bringing my wife for a date night.

It’s hard to put into words the amazing omakase experience that we had at Oku by Takato. From the moment we walked in we were promptly greeted by first name and walked over to our seat. The chefs were meticulous in explaining all the dishes and their respective ingredients. And the flavor, just WOW. Talk about the epitome of elegance and amazing taste. Thank you Helen, Liz, Fernando, chef Kim and Troy. Can’t wait to go back!

Obscenely expensive. I've eaten at comparable omakase dinners, as well as Michelin-star restaurants around the country and abroad, and none have come close to the cost of Oku. Everything about Oku was great. Chef Taek Lee was amazing - his food, the presentation and engagement with patrons. However, $800 (including sake) for two people is just not worth it.

Fantastic Omakase style Japanese dinner. Highest quality fish (otoro), Wagyu A5, and creative delicacy’s created/prepared and served by the Head Chef and Owner of the restaurant. Must do if you are a connoisseur of sushi and Japanese food.
