Welcome to OKU by Takato!

Fans of the Japanese-Korean restaurant Takato at The Conrad will take a liking to its new sister concept, Oku by Takato. The private, 10-seat omakase (meaning “chef’s choice”) lounge led by executive chef Taek “Taka” Lee is accessible through a hidden entrance. Once inside, guests embark upon a culinary journey of more than 15 courses, underscored by ingredients flown in fresh from Japan and Korea. Guests please note the following updates to our schedule and menu pricing :
Thursday through Sunday Omakase is $250.00 per person before tax & grat

Amazing food, service and experience. Only negative was the rambunctious club-like atmosphere next door and dirty bathrooms.

The Omikaze experience in Oku by Takato was Wonderful. Chef Taka and his Sous Chef Michael and the servers were extremely engaged with the 9 guests in the private dining area. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire price fixed menu. My favorites were the Hotate Tempura, the Nigiri’s of Ora King Sake, Akami, Toro and Toro, and the Uni Akamutsu. The one bite that rocked my world was the Ora King Sake which was the King Salmon from New Zealand with Foie Gra- the flavor just popped with decadence. Really enjoyed the intimate private dining area for the Omikaze experience guests and the fact that so many of the items served were sourced from Japan. The only thing I recommend is you bring something to keep you warm for the 2 hour service; the restaurant does offer blankets to keep you warm (temp in room was 63.5 degrees most of the night). Highly recommend the experience.

Excellent! Every dish was so delicious that I cannot find a favorite one! Chef Taka and chef Kim were very engaging, service from Sam and Fernando were very friendly and attentive. The ambience in the 10-seats room was very nice and cosy, though the process of entering the private room was a bit chaotic as we had to weave through a very crowded restaurant, and, the door to the private room was right up against a couple of table full of diners the we had to squeeze in between them! Overall it was a great experience, reasonable for its price point. I just hope that they can improve the entrance to the private room. Will definitely be back there soon.

Just amazing! We’ve been going to Takato for years and just found out about Oku. One of the best Omakase experiences ever. As others have commented the meal is a progression of warm course and then nigiri followed by a maki and amazing fruit and dessert. The fellow dinners are great and we even made a new friend! Really a great value.

Just a heads up it’s more of a Kaiseki experience instead of a pure omakase featuring nigiri. But the meal was absolutely fantastic and every course was amazing. The staff really took care of you and the chefs were so fun to talk to and learn from. Looking forward to bringing my wife for a date night.

Every reservation is a guaranteed memorable experience. This the best omakase experience you can imagine. It’s worth it. For the anniversary. For the promotion. Or just because. You won’t regret it.

It’s hard to put into words the amazing omakase experience that we had at Oku by Takato. From the moment we walked in we were promptly greeted by first name and walked over to our seat. The chefs were meticulous in explaining all the dishes and their respective ingredients. And the flavor, just WOW. Talk about the epitome of elegance and amazing taste. Thank you Helen, Liz, Fernando, chef Kim and Troy. Can’t wait to go back!
