Tina Takaya, proprietor, welcomes you to our newest two story restaurant on the water. We feel the key to success is our passion for creating the highest quality food and warm friendly service.

Our menu draws from Asian favorites that inspire and excite such as Wagyu Steak, Japanese Sushi, Chinese Dumplings, Garlic Noodles and fresh local seafood.

We are located in the heart of Santa Barbara’s Waterfront and Funk Zone Districts. Come enjoy lunch or dinner, soak in the sun by day at our waterfront rooftop bar while sipping on a refreshing cocktail surrounded by our beautiful ocean vista and by night, enjoy lounging by the fireplace after a delicious meal and a great glass of wine.

    It’s a beautiful restaurant with an excellent location! The service was superb. The uni nigiri is friggin bomb (how can you go wrong with fresh SB uni??). However, the rolls were mid. The noodles with shrimp were a very small portion and very salty. The ambiance was lively and fun. I’d go back for the views, but I would probably eat sushi elsewhere.

    Great sushi spot right in the water! Always great food and selection. Drinks are well made and the menu has a LOT of options for the sushi lover and non sushi lovers alike. Can’t beat the view , outside tables on the second floor have a lovely view. Easy Valet parking out back. Gets a little crowded on the weekends but that’s to be expected. Highly recommended !

    Everything about this restaurant was top notch. One of the most impressive aspects of the experience was how a number of times we were asked about the quality of our food/ experience and how the staff there worked as a coordinated professional team. A restaurant staff obviously working as a team is rare to see. We were lucky enough to have met the owner-Tina, and from our conversation she appears to have a leadership style which is respectful and encourages excellence. Many of these staff will do well in the future.

    Our host was super observant, helpful, and knowledgeable enough to pick out a bottle of Daiginjo. Get the hamachi kama & spicy flying Newton roll. Would go again!

    We always enjoy dinner at Oku. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food and drinks hit the spot. One of our favorite Santa Barbara restaurants.

    We enjoyed our little celebration of a family event just for two of us. OKU appeared to be exactly the right place for it with attentive people working there who created a welcoming atmosphere. Manager Luna was a nice conversationalist and gracious person. Thank you for a memorable evening!
