At Old Wharf, we stand in the historical location of former jetties, piers, homes and taverns from where, since the 1800s colourful traders, merchandisers, exporters and explorers have shipped Tassie’s renowned produce across the globe.

Chef Simon Pockran and his team acknowledge this history by creating a menu that celebrates and explores Tasmania’s traditional family dishes. Reimagined and refined, this menu gives the nod to our past while championing our celebrated produce and boutique Tasmania growers.

    Join us at Old Wharf Restaurant, overlook the Hobart waterfront in MACq01 Hotel, for the final meal of 2025. Chef Alvin Sim and his team have prepared a set menu centred around iconic Tasmanian fare to wean you off the year. Our 4 course 'share style' menu is priced at $165pp and includes a glass of wine on arrival. All dietaries will be considered provided they are noted at the time of booking.

    We don’t normally get to go to high class places as this. Our waitress treated us like we were meant to be there.it was for our 40th wedding anniversary and it was a high light of our day/night Food was excellent and I must say the waitress was awesome. Highly recommend this restaurant We are from Adelaide

    Venue is lovely but fish was overcooked and vegetables were undercooked, very disappointing for the cost

    We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and the first they did was provide a complimentary glass of bubbles - that was a really nice touch. The meal was excellent and plenty of it. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

    All I can say this is the best meal I have had in a longtime with amazing friendly staff, they will go out of their way to help you. The quality of the food was top class and its great to see the head chef Alvin Sim mingle with the people dining. This was our last night in Tasmania and I have already posted my thoughts to friends and family on social media and visiting The Old Wharf is a MUST do for anyone travelling to the apple aisle.
