Founded by sibling duo Chef Philip Pretty and Lauren Pretty, Olive & Rose is a culinary destination born from their shared passion for exceptional food and genuine hospitality. We'v reimagined the dining experience as a neo-bistro, where classic French techniques with a twist meet vibrant flavors that are unmistakably Californian. Each dish tells a story of flavor, texture, and creativity—a reflection of Chef Philip Pretty’s entire culinary career.
From sourcing local, seasonal ingredients to minimizing food waste and reducing our environmental footprint, we’re proud to continue the sustainable dining legacy of our sister restaurant, Heritage, by incorporating green certified and green Michelin star practices into our operations.

Our dining area is a covered patio, please dress accordingly.

Love the contemporary danish vibe. Overall enjoyed the meal. Meals w the sauces felt just a bit salt heavy. Appetizers:The bread was great -warm olives great- salad 10/10- I could eat that all day. For entrees we had the fish, pork chop (best thing on the menu) and the steak frittes. The steak was pricey for the portion size. The fries were quite literally the best I’ve ever had- served w/ an incredible homemade mayo. They did not have their liquor license yet- surprised they don’t offer corkage. The service was fine. Felt a little awkward at times -I’ve seen rave reviews so I had high expectations-I’ve had way better service in Long Beach.

Other than it being a little cold in there… the service is fantastic. The food was excellent. Just the right subtleties of spices and salt. Nothing overwhelming. Just flavorful food prepared with thought and experience

I went to celebrate my friend's birthday. Our server was Chris. Chris was amazing and knowledgable. He was able to help us with our order. everything came out in a timely manner. Everything was delicious!

The excellence of their food feels incomplete without wine or cocktail options. They do not serve alcohol as of December 2024. Could not cancel reservation after finding that out because of non refundable reservation charges. Mixed feeling about this place.

My god this place is special. The food is excellent. The endive salad could be one of the most unique dishes I have experienced. Everything is above and beyond your greatest expectations. My one issue, and I know they will figure it out is the dining room temp. Due to its unique construction it currently lacks heat. It is freezing. Bring a coat. Other than that, service impeccable. It’s pricey but it’s actually a value when you experience the quality and care that went into the dishes. Go. Go now.

Love the food, everything was delicious,well prepared and presented, great atmosphere, but we were disappointed that all the drinks, wine , beer all of them were non alcoholic. Great food always partners with great wines. Beside that, all was fantastic, maybe we were not ready for that.
