Located in the heart of Toronto's stylish fashion district, Oretta offers a distinct variety of private dining spaces designed to make you feel at home. Our mezzanine floor has two feature rooms; L'attico and Sorrgiorno, which can be used independently or as a whole dependant on your event needs. Our presentation kitchen on a 15 foot long marble top island is the most versatile component of the L'attico private dining space, offering space for a satellite bar or cooking demonstration from one of our Chef's. The Sorrgiorno provides an intimate dining experience with views overlooking the vaulted ceilings of the main dining room.

Despite booking our reservation at least a month in advance, we were given the worst table in the restaurant. Restaurant is beautiful but our table was situated adjacent to the window facing an old wooden storage table with a dirty tray and glass resting upon it. Low back chairs were uncomfortable for my hubby with some back pain but no other table available. Nicer tables don’t appear to be allocated based on advance booking - would recommend calling to specify desired seating if you don’t want to be stuck staring at a storage area. Appies were tasty, particularly the calamari, olives and burrata. My main pasta course was good in terms of flavour but served lukewarm. Salad was fresh and dressing flavourful. Waitress was nice but service was somewhat lax. My friend had to use a water bottle from her purse to fill her water glass because the refills weren’t coming. Overall it was ok but I won’t bother to return.

Here's a detailed restaurant review based on your experience: ★★ out of 5 Stunning atmosphere can't make up for subpar food and bewildering service at this establishment. The highlight was the tuna crude, which showed genuine culinary skill and excellent execution. Unfortunately, that's where the positives regarding the food end. The calamari was disappointingly ordinary – heavily breaded and reminiscent of basic pub fare rather than what one would expect from a proper restaurant. The real issues began with the pizza, which arrived cold. When we requested it to be reheated, the staff's hesitation was puzzling, claiming they needed the chef's permission for such a basic request. What followed was truly perplexing: upon the pizza's return from reheating, we discovered a missing half-slice. When questioned, the server offered an unconvincing explanation that it "may have fallen off in the oven," followed by an odd statement that they "don't normally reheat pizza" – which begs the question of why they agreed to do so in the first place. The service continued to disappoint when clearing our plates. Despite leaving 80% of the calamari untouched – a clear sign of dissatisfaction – no inquiries were made about our experience or whether we'd like to take the remainder home. While the ambiance was genuinely pleasant, it cannot compensate for the combination of mediocre food and questionable service practices. The missing pizza slice incident, in particular, demonstrated a concerning lack of professionalism and transparency. Bottom Line: Despite the inviting atmosphere and the excellent tuna crude, the inconsistent food quality and problematic service make it difficult to recommend this establishment. Will not be returning.
