Parking is a real problem and almost impossible on a Friday night at 7:00pm when we wenrt.

We were seeking waterside dining for lunch. It was our first visit to this great location with easy & free street parking on Sunday. We sat outdoors on the back side of restaurant. All 3 of us very much enjoyed our lunch of VA oysters, prime rib stew and seafood chowder, cobia & fish and chips. The cocktail menu was exciting and season appropriate and we were delighted for Castle & Key Harvest gin from KY (a fav of ours) to be featured & it was spectacular. Our server was great and she gave us just the right amount of attention. They had live music inside but we didn’t get to enjoy. The only critique is that the oysters seemed pre shucked. They were good but pricey and lacked the juice of a fresh shucked oyster!

Loud echo environment. We were there at night so no view of the river. I had the NOLA Bbq Shrimp that more like tomato soup with little bit of Worcestershire. Shrimp were small to medium . If you are looking for authentic Bbq shrimp this is not it. Wine was expensive. May go back just for the view but was disappointed in what could be an amazing place.

The drinks were fine but the rest of the experience was extremely disappointing. The tap water had a bad taste to it. The grilled cheese was mostly bread and had bad flavor. The fish sandwich was bland and dry. Overall, I would not recommend.

I thought the food was good but the blackened fish wasn’t “blackened “ at all. There’s definitely a difference not only visually but in taste - big time. I liked everything else. The staff was super nice and I always like eating on the water.

We did find the menu for entrees to be rather limited. I’ve eaten here a few other times and missed some of the previous options. We shared appetizers … the goat cheese fritters w/pepper jam were amazing. The mock tails were great, as was the smoked fish dip.

Very disappointing experience. We had to wait 30 minutes after our reservation before being sat; while tables were available, they wouldn’t push two together for our party of 6. But worse, we came for fish and oysters, and they were out of both. We ate chicken and ribs, neither of which had much flavor, and the ambiance wasn’t even worth it. And don’t get the calamari unless you want fried batter. I do not recommend at all!

We were there for Christmas dinner . My son had to work that day and I am from N FL so cooking wasn't an option. I was choosey wanted traditional Christmas. They were out of traditional , out of ribs, out of filet , out of choc bourbon pie and creme Brule . We ended up with my son and his partner eating hamburgers, which were very good, and I had a gourmet salad. They food we had was good but not what we wanted for Christmas. If you are going to take reservations for traditional Christmas( Thanksgiving, Easter etc. ) you should make sure you keep enough back to cover those reservations. They were obviously taking walk ins all day and we were not a priority. We also ordered the we ordered the Baratta . Nice size piece of cheese with just 3 pieces of bread. I was not impressed. Will say the Sangria was very good. Our waiter took forever they seemed understaffed. After 20 minutes a young women said she would get us drinks because he was so busy. After the drinks no one came for a food order another 20 minutes until the girl came back and said she was taking over our table since he was so busy. She was very good and deserved the 25% tip I gave. Funny thing though the couple next to us came in after us by about 10 minutes but had drinks and food before us. Maybe we didn't look as high end as they did not sure but I almost left at that point. If I had been sure of getting in somewhere else for a Christmas dinner I would have. The only reason I gave 4 stars was the young lady who ended up waiting on us. I would not recommend this restaurant. It is a beautiful location it is a shame.
