   Excellent service by all the staff, excellent food. I had the fajitas which were delicious.

   I have such a love/hate relationship with this hotel. It could be so good but clearly lacks the management structure. The service was poor despite not being busy. Waiting for 30 minutes to have your order taken including drinks isn’t good enough, I had to go and ask for someone to do it. The staff are all very young, all very pleasant but there didn’t seem to be anyone taking any charge or organising the service. The saving grace is the food, it was lovely. What annoys me more is that I cancelled another booking to go here, lesson to self, go with your first instinct. The lounge itself is lovely, bright and clean. Beautiful view over the river. Neither of the toilets behind reception had any loo paper either. This is not the first time I’ve come away from here disappointed. There are so many lovely places to eat in Inverness that I won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

   Ate in the brasserie - lovely room with a good atmosphere and lovely view of the river. Pleasant waiter and waitress but food quite average. The room temperature was pretty chilly. The sign on the wall beside the door through to the toilets was really not very noticeable but when one of us asked reception for directions she wasn’t given a particularly friendly reply. Not a good impression for tourists.

   We had a main course each, chicken balmoral and chicken fajita wrap. Both very tasty, and fresh. Portion size was good. We shared cheesecake dessert, it was raspberry and delicious, served with cream and ice cream.

   Really good dining experience in a really lovely restaurant. The staff were very friendly and professional and service was really slick at all times. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated and the table setup led to a very pleasant 60 minutes. Although the food was really excellent (haggis bon bons to die for !!) the chips were luke warm and took the edge of an otherwise perfect experience however I'll certainly be returning as places like this are hard to find in Inverness.

   My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Palace Hotel last Thursday evening. Great menu with lots of choice and the service was excellent and very customer-focused.

   The service is excellent and the atmosphere too. I ordered the scampi, unfortunately it was very well done (not all of them) but some were very hard, the chips were also a bit of a mix with some not quite cooked enough and others a bit soft. I have eaten here before and will go back as the menu is very good and great value.

    Wrong food given to one of out guests who has an allergy. Thus happened twice with a bowl of chips.
