                                      Cozy, simple and excellent! We ordered the Ontario salad which was covered in beautiful ribbons of cheese and rivalled many of the fussier apps I’ve had in other restaurants. The beef tartar was garlicky and delicious, our mains were once again simple but perfectly executed with balance in both flavour and texture. I had the duck confit which was lovely but they made the star of the show the fennel which is not a vegetable I tend to enjoy. My husband had the halibut which was buttery perfection. I would for sure go again.

                                      This was our first time here and we loved it. The sour dough bread, green salad, streak and linguine were amazing. And the value for the food was off the charts. Our waitress Christina was awesome. Thank you for a great dinner.

                                      Parquet is a great bistro with very competent service, a delicious menu and thoughtful and very approachable wine list. I can strongly recommend the steak frites and the duck confit. Unlike many restaurants the noise level was fine. No one at our table had to yell.

                                      Great service, was a bit long till service hit the table. Wanted still and sparkling but was automatically poured tap. So we just accepted that. Other than that service was good.

                                      Service was great. My friend and I had the steak tartare (because the kitchen was out of the scallop crudo which was our first choice), and the Ontario greens as starters. The greens were delicious, the steak tartare was fine (a little overdressed). We had the steak frites as the main. The steak was well seasoned and cooked to the right temperature but the fries were thick cut fries and soggy. I expected the skinny shoe string fries that I normally have had as ‘frites’ in French restaurants. The meal was average, not spectacular.

                                      We got our table half an hour after the reservation. Sat at the table for atleast 30 more minutes before anyone approached us for our order. Staff seemed very confused. After dinner was served we had several different staff members approach us, and they kept asking if we were done. We felt rushed to finish. Food was underwhelming. Was very disappointed considering we had high hopes due to the Michelin recommendation. The only positive was the cocktails and the bartender was attentive while we waited for our table.

                                      We loved Parquet, we were warmly greeted by the staff and despite being 10 minutes early for our reservation, they were able to seat us immediately. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed our appetizers and the mains were fabulous. We also enjoyed our dessert. The only blemish was that after we had finished our dinner we had to sit with our dirty plates for an extended period while the staff seemingly ignored us. Overall we had a wonderful time and would be happy to return.
